MFL Position Changes -- List? (1 Viewer)

They made the change because he was traded and now plays a different position. Same would happen if say Pryor signed with a new team as a QB again, they would change him from WR to QB. Other then the rare things like this positions are locked once the season starts. At least historically, doesn't mean they won't change their policy in the future I guess.

So did I... their inconsistency is maddening.
Not really. Allen was actually traded to a team that will play him at a totally different position. Not sure why this is so hard for people to understand.
I'm fully aware that Allen will play DE for the Panthers and realistically should be listed as such... you just misinterpreted my entire point.

The inconsistency in when they change positions and when they don't is what is at issue. As previously mentioned, they don't typically make changes in season (even if a player is playing more at a different position than the position he was originally listed)... but sometimes they do. The complaint is that it is a moving target, that's all.

Fair enough. I can't recall the last time they made a position change after the season started. So I decided to get some actual facts.

Both of the past 2 years there have been no position changes once the season starts. Unfortunately 2012 and older that information is no longer available on old leagues so don't know for a fact on those older years. But certainly in the past 3 years Allen is the only player to ever be switched in season.

I think it's been pretty consistent as far back as I remember (been playing IDP for over 15 years): 99% of the time there are no position changes in season unless something like a trade or a clear position change happens. Hybrid DE/LB aren't going to change if they are on the same team.

I know this is not a Mack specific thread but having watched a lot of the Bears/Raiders game today I really zoned in on Mack as much as I could.

Seemed to me this is what I saw:

1) Lined on the right side of the offense/left of the defensive most of the time

2) Played the classic rush LB position, rushed the passer almost every down. Reminded me a lot of Suggs. The Bears were in pass mode a lot of the game though.

3) Played downs both standing up as well as with his hand down. A lot of the time with his hand down it seemed to me more of a balancing thing then a technique. A lot of times he stood up and only put his hand down right before the snap, kind of like a sprinter puts their hand to the ground just before they take off.
4) When he was looking to rush inside he had his hand down. When he looked to rush outside he stood up. Noticed the Raiders played a lot of just 2 down linemen, then Mack and someone else on the right side and the guy on the right almost never had his hand down and often rushed out wide while Mack would rush inside more then the other guy. End of the game he had his hand down more then at the beginning of the game.

So Mack seems truly the classic definition of the hybrid rush LB/DE in the mold of Suggs. This was only one game, I have no idea how he has played in others.

Mark Barron (STL) is playing LB now, but still classified as a Safety on Yahoo and probably other sites.

He had a great week 7 too, 16 tackles.
