**Miami at Buffalo** (-14, 44) Sun at 1:00 (1 Viewer)

Miama needs Tua to give Buffalo a tough game imo
I don't think we see Tua in a Miami uniform the rest of the '22 season even though it's now 2023
I don't care if another Miracle in Miami starts, it won't involve Tua
Things could change of course but that is the growing sentiment in South Florida
I think Tua will wear a Miami uniform again but some are starting to feel he might retire early for his own safety

For that young man's personal health and safety he shouldn't play another down this season.
Miami would have a punchers chance if he did play, but please,I've seen enough of young men laid out on a football field this year.
Having said that, seems like a large spread for a playoff game between division rivals that play twice a year.
If Teddy plays I think the Fins can make it an interesting game, but The Bills may score late to cover the number so my first inclination is...

The New Frozen Tundra- 34
South Beach- 20

If Teddy plays? Naaaaaa. He has been terrible every shot he has had.

I will just watch and cheer for whomever lines up under center. But I have no expectations of an upset. Because without Tua it will take a performance of epic proportions from Teddy or Skylar.

And our defensive secondary is in taters. It is gonna be a very tough out up in Buffalo and Vegas knows it.

Buffalo 34
Miami 16
If no Tua

I really hope I am wrong and it is a tough competitive game. Any given Sunday….please!!! If we get word Tua indeed will play we will update this.

Not sure how Miami wins this game with the QBs in house we have at the moment, but the bills made Mac Jones look like a credible QB and he isn't.

The one thing Miami has going for them is Buffalo has to be emotionally spent with all the Hamlin stuff that happened. You get an adrenaline bounce the following week then you are on E for awhile. I don't know if Miami is healthy enough to exploit that though.

I thought about that angle......if we had Tua....I would feel a lot more confident. Our offense is simply nothing....I mean nothing like when we had Tua at the helm. He truly made huge strides this season. Despite my overall feelings about the pick of Tua (we took the wrong guy period).....he is our QB and I was pleased with his play this season when he was on the field. The improvement was quite drastic. A lot of things contributed to that. Coaching, scheme, personel and Tua finally having a staff that believed in him and he was 100% healthy entering the 2022 campaign.

Buffalo I think has been a little off last few weeks. Hamlin has emotions on high. Also way better than Miami so should roll big time.

Buffalo: 38 Miami: 20

Tua, Waddle, Hill, Mostert

Just a few injuries to their entire starting offense, no worries.....

Buf- 33
Mia- 10

BUF wins 35 - 13. I don't see how Miami hangs in this one. Division opponents can often find a way to keep things close knowing their opponent well, but I just don't think Miami has the horses to do it.

If Tua is out I’m likely to lay the points. Miami’s defense is nothing to write home about, and BUF looks like they’re on a mission right now.

Line movement making people think Tua is playing, but even Bridgewater might move this line 2 points the way Thompson looked. I don't think Tua should or will suit up this week.

Judging Skylar Thompson primarily on his play in 2 games versus the NYJ defense may not be fair. Sauce was the best CB by almost all metrics and he frustrated Tyreek multiple times in the last game. Sauce shutdown DK and JJ. Skylar did a great job extending plays and throwing the ball away to avoid sacks in the last game. He's a rookie, at 25 year old, but I prefer him to Teddy. Skylar made some wow throws in the MN, NE, and last game vs the Jets, so he's a little more than a game manager IMO.

Tua ruled out for Sunday. Confounding factors in play, including past concussions. Skylar is the likely starter.

>>Has any concern been raised by doctors about Tua playing again and does the team expect him to resume his career? McDaniel declined to answer, saying "I'm just thinking about him getting full health as a human being."

McDaniel said Tua hasn't had any setbacks but has "compounding variables" in play. Doctors are supposed to consider past concussions in clearing a player; that could be coming into play.

McDaniel said Tua "is learning he needs to listen to advice of medical professionals. He was an incredible part of our entire season. Eight of our wins were the result of him playing quarterback amongst the team."

McDaniel said Skylar is the starting quarterback today but Bridgewater is still working "to prepare himself to be capable on Sunday" to play but "cannot afford any setbacks."<<

For the organization, starting Skylar is the right move. Is he a good backup? Can he be a starter in the mode of Brock Purdy?

There's a decent probability that the best 2 QBs from the 2022 draft are 7th rounders.

The line has already shifted out to 13 points. Our previous two games were decided by a grant total of five points, but this isn't the same Miami team without Tua. (Or Bridgewater or Mostert by the sound of it, but Tua is the big one).

Skylar has to just ball out, play his game, use his feet.

I really hope they take some shots early.

Obviously out chances are slim….but if we play hard and compete I will be happy win or lose. I just want to see max effort.

I think Miami must be so frustrated with their collapse and overanalyzing everything.

Buffalo, obviously, has a lot of emotions and probable overthinking too. Damar is far far better now. They gotta hug him and get to work. That's so much easier said than done. I can only imagine what's going through their heads n hearts.

I'm avoiding this game for playoff FF. I think it's just going to come down to which team stays level headed and plays good football.

You don't believe the loss of Tua in any way effects or impact the Miami Dolphins?
I would lay the points with Buffalo and not overthink it much.
I can cheer for Miami but logic and past memories would tell you they are going to get rolled out of Orchard Park

I never ever lay 14 points…..I avoid those games when gambling real money.

If anything I tease the Fins to + 24 points

their collapse and overanalyzing everything

the loss of Tua
as MoP said the loss of Tua and the loss of their entire secondary at multiple points... explain much.
good thing the Bills had no losses in their secondary or their HoF pass rushser
Yeah, but losing their QB is fundamentally a different thing in the modern NFL. The Bills won a bunch of games with a secondary held together by duct tape and bailing wire. They're a .500 team without Josh Allen.

By the same token, this would be a challenging game if the Dolphins were just missing Mostert and a couple of DBs. It's a total mismatch because they're missing Tua. We've all gotten used to criticizing Tua because he's not elite, and that's fair. He's not really "elite" IMO. But that doesn't mean that he isn't pretty good -- he is, and him being out is meaningful.

Miami with Tua has been a tight game with the bills here at home and on the road at buffalo. I would argue that miami fans would think we could ”shock the world” if Tua and armstead were playing this weekend.

with Thompson the question is “how do we score points”? We are going to give up somewhere between 24-35 points to the bills. Can we score 4 tds or so with skylar? Can we maximize our running game like we did vs them the last time and shorten the game? Can the Miami defense which never seems to get a turnover get 2 (or 3) vs the bills? Can our special teams hold up?

the only good news here is the phins are free rolling. Making the playoffs after all these injuries was the goal. Now, to make noise and beat the bills we basically have to say F-it and play aggressive.

Agreed. I said somewhere else here that there are elite QBs that can be elite no matter what. There are also system QBs that, in the right system, can help make the offense elite. Allen is the first. Tua is the second IMO. He’s the right fit for that system and those receivers to make them an elite offense. Miami is a totally different offense without him.

Miami could only beat Joe Flacco and the Jets 9-6 (safety at end was meaningless) with their playoff hopes on the line. This one will be ugly.

Kenny Pickett has been way better than his numbers suggest.

This really sucks for Miami. I truly believe this is the worst Buffalo team of the last 3 seasons, and they couldn't have caught a better break on matchup.

I think it the NYJ had been able to beat Miami that Pittsburgh/Buffalo would have been a really tight game.

real q is what is the cin @ buf line going to be assuming no suprises
my guess is buf -3 o/u 49
I'd love Cincy and the over in that scenario. I don't think Buffalo has the defense to stop Burrow and co.

I agree completely but dont you think that the line will be close to that?
