Miami Dolphins Going Forward (1 Viewer)

If Tyler Thigpen is the quarterback going forward, does that mean he will assume the role Pennington and Henne had thus far this season. Or can we assume that we will see much more wildcat to benefit Ricky & Ronnie?

In the Titans game, when they went down, the team went straight to wildcat and then back to a normal offense a little later, but they were consistently getting 10+ yards a play in wildcat (except Brandon Marshall's near interception). After that series, I believe they went back to the more traditional game plan.

Anyone have insight into this?

My gut tells me they want to go more wildcat, but they didn't practice enough wildcat plays last week.

It would not surprise me if they did. I also am wondering though whether they try to tweak the offense in a way that better plays to Thigpen's skillset. He is pretty dynamic (can throw and run) and I believe he was most successful in Gailey's version of the spread. The question now is, how much time would it take to work some of those packages into their offense? Or, do they even want to do that? The problem with that spread is that when it is not effective, it can be really taxing on the defence, as they are forced to get back on the field very quickly. Given Parcells' and Sparano's backgrounds, I am not sure they would be willing to sacrifice that. Finally, the wildcat was so successful a couple of years ago, not just because it was new, but also because Williams and Brown were already running pretty well. Sure, a few plays here and there may work, but they are two years old (and Brown coming back from yet another injury in 09), I am not sure if they have the wheels to pull it off.
