Very interesting. I thinkn a lot of us (me too) were thinking Wilford was great value as a WR5 who could put up WR3-4 #s. I have mocked in some 12 team, 20 pick drafts and I am pretty sure Hagan has not even been selected as of yet. It will be interesting to see whether he can hold onto the job.Dolphins | Hagan promoted to first teamTue, 5 Aug 2008 09:02:41 -0700The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports Miami Dolphins WR Derek Hagan was promoted to the first-team offense.Dolphins | Wilford demoted to second teamTue, 5 Aug 2008 09:02:11 -0700The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports Miami Dolphins WR Ernest Wilford was demoted to the second-team offense.
Everything that I have read about Hagan is that he is looking like the best WR out there. The morning I went Wilford looked the best. The thing with Hagan is that he always looks great in training camp. He has the protypical size and speed, he just can't hang onto the ball. That was the knock on him coming out of college and that is where he is in the nfl- looks good but always drops the ball. Hopefully this is the year that he fixes the problem. On another note, I went to the Jags Training Camp the following morning and they run TC like club med compared to the Dolphins.Very interesting. Well? That was more than a week ago....I will be going to training camp today. I will keep an eye on the QB situation, Ricky and Ronnie, Ginn and Wilford and report back. Any other situations for me to look out for let me know and I will report back.. let me know!
I'm interested in how the Oline is gelling and how Long looks. This offense will only be as good as the Oline and as a Ginn and Brown owner I'm really hoping it pulls together this year. I'm really eying next year as the break out year for this O, but it would be nice to still get quality production this year as well. Also, do there seem to be any indications on how Mia plans to use Ginn this year. Now that he is taking over as the WR1 will he run the ball a lot (for a WR)?, short screens?, primarily long routes?I will be going to training camp today. Yeah I just drafted Wilford (in round 22 for a WR4/5 bye week guy) yesterday. And I keep tabs on the Dolphins from Miami Herald emails. I had seen some buzz on Hagan but nothing to indicate that he was beating Wilford out. So I am suprised by this report from the Sun-Sentinel.FWIW Wilford always seemed to get a raw deal competing with the other WR in Jax over the years also. But more often than not was still the best WR they had during games. Maybe he is not as good a practice player as he is during games??Very interesting. I hope so....Henne didn't have the senior season he wanted. He was injured early in the season last year and played a lot of that season injured. He finally had some time to rest and showed what he could do versus Florida in the bowl game.If he starts, that would even exceed my expectations.I'm more on board with Henne too. Even some veteran defensive players have been quoted as saying how poised and confident he looks.John Beck hasn't gotten over his rotten performance last year and McCown is who he is. Henne has a solid chance to become the top gun in Miami.
