I'm not touching Cabrera ever again. He has the tools to be successful, but I haven't seen someone with such little control since Rick Wild Thing Vaughn of the California Penal League. He could turn it around someday, but it won't be on my team.Westbrook is not a fun pick, but I think he'll be servicable. Should be good for a good win total, won't kill your ratios, but won't strike many guys out either.None of these three excite me, Cabrera and Owings have more upside than Westbrook but I don't believe in either of them (more faith in Owings, but not until at least 09). If possible I'd add a quality middle reliever instead, but if you have to have a starter...good luck.

I have had Cabrera on my team the last two years but I also have had enough. I say go with Westbrook if you need a SP

If Im paying that kind of $$ for a league, it would have to be very deep, like 400 players. Too many guys on the wire in this kind of league - any joe shhmo could beat me to the computer one day and pick up the next Ryan Braun, next thing you know I'm out $500.

Actually, seeing as I am a complete noob at this, the very limited bench SHOULD be to my advantage, once I get settled in here. This is a league with some good friends and I committed with the expectation of splitting the cost / team with a friend but that didnt end up happening.
