Michael Bush-RB-Raiders (1 Viewer)

if you own Fargas and expect him to play a role on your team, than Bush may be worth a flier.

There is a chance that Bush gets that late season audition, but who knows...

i've heard conflicting reports, but one of them said Oakland needed to activate him this week. Another said Bush thought he had until next week

what are peoples thoughts on M.Bush going forward? I guess quite a lot depends on if the draft Mcfadden or not. What about Fargas? Is there a decent chance Bush can over take the starting job? opinions appreciated

If the Raiders don't draft a RB in the first 3 rounds, then Bush should get an opportunity. If they do he'll be fighting for a roster spot.4th rounders with injury histories don't historically set the NFL on fire

If they do not draft McFadden, I think he has a very good shot of sticking with the team regardless (for 2008 anyways). He was a borderline 1st rounder prior to his injury and although Fargas was resigned, he is getting good backup money, but not bonafide starter money (and I am not even taking into account the "Raiders' salary increase"). I compare him to Gore...a third rounder who had injury issues. Granted he was able to come out of the gate in the NFL on fire, but I think there are similarities there. Bush is on my sleeper list because he only has to beat out Rhodes and Fargas and has the potential to do well if he is healthy.

echoing above, the draft will be a big indicator. With that though, they have not cut jordan yet and they resigned rhodes and fargas. Fargas showed he could play but still has injury concerns. Fargas should get the first crack at the #1 spot. Rhodes will be a backup with jordan cut soon (june 1 maybe?). Bush will have to show something special in camps to get over those two.

That being said, i think an indicator of what they may think of Bush will come on draft day. If they think he can be the 1st rd talent everyone said before the injury then they dont draft mcfadden and let Fargas and Bush be their 2 headed backfield with rhodes as ins. Nothing to support that, just my thoughts....

That's why as a Raider fan I'd love the Raiders to skip DMac and pick up help along the DLine to turn our defense into an elite defense. Then let a backfield with some proven vets Jordan, RHodes, and Fargas and a X-factor in Bush carry the rushing load.

bumping for thoughts on Bush as a dynasty trade target. I havent had an easy time aquiring him in quite a few leagues. Anybody think the Raiders trade him or if Bush can push Fargas to the bench?

I think a healthy McFadden will get the majority of touches and Fargas and Bush will get left overs- but if there is an injury to either Fargas or McFadden then Bush will see his touches jump way up. And both Fargas and McFadden give us reason to believe that the chances of one of them missing some time is pretty high. I would not say that going after him is a bad idea but you have to take into consideration how much it will cost you in both what you give up in a trade and roster space.

I just traded him away for a 2010 1st rookie pick as I have to make room for 4 2009 1st round picks and 3 2009 2nd round picks. Lost patience with him and da Raiders.

this. i think next year,2010, it'll be him & dmc.

In dynasty leagues you must get a guy before he becomes a household name.Steve Slaton was basically an afterthought in a talent laden draft for RBs last Spring and you could have probably had him for cheap.....Good luck with that now...I think Bush is one of 3-4 guys at RB in dynasty leagues to target this offseaon before his value goes up...............

I had one owner ask for him because he wants to back up his other Raider RB's. I hope he'd traded(didn't trade him).

I think Bush is better then McFadden . I see McFadden used like Reggie Bush and Bush used like Deuce ( When Deuce was healthy ).

Although I do not agree with the first part, I do agree with the last part with the addition that next year it will not be like that. Fargas will be in the mix and that muddles Bush's value until either McFadden or Fargas (or both) get hurt. After this next year then we will see but I think the team will eventually go with a two RB attack featuring Bush and McFadden at some point... the question really is when.

The Bucs are reportedly interested in making a trade for Raiders RB Michael Bush.

Bush needs to find some, any way out of Oakland, where they're trying to turn him into a fullback. The Bucs would likely give him a chance to compete for substantial early-down carries. Tampa Bay is also installing a zone-blocking scheme, which Bush became familiar with as a Raider.

Tampa probably should use another resource besides their own game tapes for scouting.

They don't have any extra early pics (rounds 1-5) and supposedly gave up their 2nd for Winslow, so I wondewr what they would give up if they trade for him.

Rumors were that the Chargers had a deal in place for him at the deadline, but the Raiders backed out at the last minute.

Exactly. I haven't thought of a player-for-player deal, but I can't see a situation where the Raiders take less than a 2nd rounder, a high one.Bush owners will continue to hope, but I don't see a trade as happening.

This talk of him being shopped is only good news. Best thing for him would be to get out of Oakland (losing situation and a team with two other HBs) and go somewhere where he is wanted and given a chance.
