Michael Jenkins (1 Viewer)

He's finally healthy, former first round pick, 6'4" 220lbs, in his third year, Good QB throwing to him, Roddy White will command double teams leaving him one on one and Harry Douglas didn't really do anything with his opportunity. Anybody have any insight? Worth a waiver wire pick up?

No. Even with a Roddy White injury, I think Gonzo soaks up the targets and they go run heavy with Turner & Snelling and use Jenkins's best asset -- blocking.

3rd year? The dude has been a Falcon since 2004, and has sucked on ice since. We know what Jenkins can do. You are better off taking a flyer on unproven talent.

You're right, Robopunter. My bad. I don't know why I thought it was his 3rd year. Looks like it's Steve Johnson, then. Screw Jenkins

I know. He'll be my 6th WR. Just trying to take a flyer on a guy with late season potential. Might as well pick him up before other people are thinking about him.

Not so much.Jenkins is a decent NFL WR - can catch, runs decent routes and importantly is a good blocker that helps in the running game, but as far as his fantasy prospects - he likely isn't worth a roster spot unless your league is extremely deep or you're extremely desperate. He's at best a 4 catch 40-50 yards a game guy with very few TDs sprinkled in there.

With all that said, and I'm not disagreeing with any of it, the Falcons seem surprisingly excited that Jenkins is returning. They've really been playing it up in the local papers in terms that they expect him to have a bigger impact on the passing game. I'm not picking him up, but I would pay attention to what his target numbers look like on Sunday. My $0.02.
