Michael Lewis (1 Viewer)

Miami Style

What do you guys think of this former stud? He is a UFA and should leave and sign somewhere else, but will he return to stud status or is he destined to just be a average role player for the rest of his career?

I think he will find a starting job elsewhere and be a very solid IDPer for a couple more seasons.

What team would you think can utilize his talent the most.

Personally, I STILL like him better than Considine. I believe Considine may possess better cover skills - but I see him avoiding hits a little too much for my liking. I like Michael Lewis' versatility and he hits like a beast.

I really don't see the Eagles signing him, so I would grab him now because I see him as a great buy low candidiate.

The NFL is changing. "In-the-box" guys like Roy Williams, Michael Lewis and <gulp> Adam Archuleta are becoming dinosaurs.

Why?

Teams are throwing more and defenses are putting more LB's on the field (ie. more 3-4). Therefore, the desired physical presence of a hard-hitting SS is being replaced with an extra LB (...who weighs 240lbs+ and has the ability to cover RB's and TE's).

Michael Lewis is probably picking the worst time to become a UFA. He lost his starting job...a comparable SS (Archuleta) signed a record deal last offseason only to be benched months later...and the draft has some blue-chip safeties in Nelson, Landry and Griffin.

And as I finish watching the Eagles/Giants playoff game, I can only feel relieved that Shawn Considine's overunning and missed tackle of Plaxico Burress for a critical 1st down did not cost them the game.

That was the worst display of NOT breaking down for a tackle that I've seen since his missed tackle of Tiki Barber in the first quarter.

The boy better learn quick is all I have to say.

Considine = fools gold.

Sorry Pick :thumbdown:

I'm talking from being an Eagles fan, not for the SFL. You have nailed down the starting safety in Considine - but I happen to feel pretty strongly that this is one of Andy Reids few mistakes.
