Michael Robinson (1 Viewer)

Bay Area homer ..

and i can tell you from all the NOLEN TALK SHOWS AND ECT .. that they actually see RObinson being more of a every down type guy than gore

heard from player interviews and ect . that he is one of the most exciting rookie anyone has ever seen

sure some of it has to be " fluff " but he looked pretty good during pre-season .. and if you factor into the equation that he has never focased totally on JUST BEING A RB . the amount of upside and growth is huge

Bringing this one back up b/c I'm deciding between picking up either Musa Smith or Michael Robinson tonight off waivers.

Who has better keeper value right now?

I thought he ran with good power in preseason, but did not see him make too many guys miss or flash great vision. As a niner fan, I sure hope he turns into Marcus Allen.

I'd go with Robinson unless you have Jamal Lewis.Yes, I believe in the handcuff.

I'm starting to believe Nolan always praises his backups(most every spot) Some coach used to do this, can't recall who but....you think he does that? "lay it on thick" for all backups? If so, what's reality for Robinson?

Be somewhat leery of Nolan coach speak but watch the situation closely as Robinson obviously has game changing athletic ability. who knows

I watched the 49ers final preseason game to check out Mr. Robinson, and he ran a lot between the tackles whih surprised me. He was also dragging guys for extra yards.

He looked like a power back to me, which is truly scary since I've seen enough of him at PSU to know he's got speed & elusiveness. He's got a shot to be the #1 RB out of this class - not a great shot, but a shot.

He also could move to WR (or QB?) if the 49ers feel he fits better there, and they have a gaping hole. I took him in the 4th round of a IDP dynasty league figuring he's got a shot at multiple spots and the 49ers need players.

I read something a while back(not too long after the draft/start of camp) that WR doesn't seem to be his thing and that he fits well at RB. In a pinch maybe but probably the WR talk is over

No one is a sure thing. Not Bush. Not Williams. Not Maroney.

Ki Jana Carter. Curtis Enis. Rashaan Salaam. All were high picks that didn't pan out. Who knows if MRob can pull this off, but for a late pick in a keeper league I'm willing to find out. If I picked him up planning on having him carry me this year then I'm already screwed.

I had to put Dom. Davis on IR and I picked up Robinson. I'm excited to see what happens, but I'm not expecting him to be my RB2 or 3.

I've been trying not to drink the kool-aid about Robinson, but I agree that he has looked good and lots of folks here on the board seem really impressed with him.

With that said, I'm another one of those owners who finds him still available in free agency in a couple of my dynasty leagues (one of which I own Gore) and could pick him up, but would have to drop one of several other long shots like Cedric Houston, Musa Smith or Mewelde Moore.

FBG dynasty rankings don't even have Robinson listed and he's not ranked particularly high in the rookie rankings either, so that makes me wonder what his true value is and makes me hesitant to pick him up.

I'll pick him up as soon as he moves up to the number 2 spot on the depth chart, but i'm not gonna get too excited of over a preseason performance ...yet. :)

I'd drop Houston in a heartbeat for Robinson.I know what Cedric can do and I'm not impressed. I think Robinson has a chance to be special (and I'm talking "short bus" special).

Robby could end up the goal line back this year. Big strong and has a nose for the goal line.

what's up with Mike Nolan and the 49ers converting so many people, anyways?

every time they draft one of these guys they talk about him being a 'slash' type player

Delanie Walker WR to TE/F-Back

Arnaz Battle QB to WR

Rasheed Marshall QB to WR

Michael Robinson QB to RB

Eric Johnson WR to TE

Why would Gore come out at the GL?

Why does Tike Barber come out? A bigger stronger back that does not play every down can take the abuse.

I was just wondering if Gore's game was lacking around the GL.

Robinson's edge is that he was aversatile in college, and is more athletic than most if not all of those other guys.

his scooting to the corner of the end zone became too predictable and years ago the Giants really really struggled inside the 10. Plax's height and a bruiser back spreads things out nicely. Barber still plays inside the 10 it's just less often
