Michael Turner arrested for DUI 9/18/12 (1 Viewer)

I don't think he was celebrating his 2.5 YPC average. I think he was headed to the bank with his check for that horse-#### average.

Why do wealthy people with the means to pay for a limo or cab have these problems? Just hire anyone for $200 to wait on you and drive your drunk butt home.

TUrner wont be suspended, he is a model player- first time in trouble. No chance he would get suspended prior to his day in court either. And trust me (I have extensive knowledge of the law, courts and litigation) he wont be in front of a judge for a while.

I think this is 100% wrong. Roger will actually use Turner as "an example" that NO ONE is above THE LAW. He will be suspended. The question is simply how long?

Thanks for your Opinion. But if Ray Lewis can get away with double murder, I think Falcons are at least going to wait after the court date.

He was never in trouble before because he was good, the police probably let him slide; now he doesn't the star power to tak his way out of tickets.

I'm not so sure about this. The first question is, has Turner been involved in anything before? I can't remember that he has. Also, if Roger were to make an example, Turner doesn't have the "juice" to make people worry...Now if this happened to a Manning, and he wanted to make an example, that would be another thing. Finally, I think Roger has his hands full with the whole Bounty Gate and Replacement Ref thing where you could make the argument, regardless of what he gets paid, he has too much on his plate to worry about a first time offender (if that is what he is). Also, I feel as though we do not see this much, but it seems to me the guys who get suspended, are (1) young and (2) have a nice track record of breaking rules. Personally, I've been wondering what would happen if a 7+ year vet got a DUI without any other transgressions. My guess is that he gets a free flight to NYC, a 20 minute speech and is sent on his way. In the back of his mind, Goddell has to be wondering how it would be handled if Brady went out to dinner and drinks, got stopped and he had to make a decision whether to suspend Brady for a playoff game (for example)...I don't think he wants to be in that situation, and this would set a precedent if Turner really has nothing else on his record.

Serious question, what's Tuner worth now in a dynasty format? I've always been one to "buy low". I did this with Aaron Rodgers when he was still a backup, Calvin Johnson when he got hurt, Ray Rice after his "disappointing" rookie season, D Thomas when he blew out his achilles, Vernon Davis after 3 disappointing years....on and on.

Is he still worth a 2nd round rookie pick in a 10 team dynasty league? Caveat: I already have Rice, Spiller, Chris Johnson, J Stew and Ingram. Depth isn't the issue.

Until he has his day in court nothing will happen..And he more then likely won't actually go to court till after the season or beyond.Nothing to see here for this season..

He "might" have some value as a match up play flex if you want to gamble he gets goal line looks that week. Aside from that I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole in Dynasty leagues. If you want to buy this guy low, i'm pretty confident you could get him really cheap. He's not what he used to be.

probably for the same reason that middle class people have these problems(just pay $20 for a cab ride)- it has little to do with finances and everything to do with poor judgment due to intoxication and poor planning ahead(knowing that you'd be drunk and arranging something ahead of time)

why do people make posts like this where they list all of their hits and none of their misses? Who are you trying to impress and why?If you really are some FF God who just crushes all of these "buy low" players, then you're probably much more qualified than any of us to evaluate this situation.

:goodposting: And if you have to ask what Turner is worth in a dynasty league I question the veracity of the earlier statements.

whew, man I was really worried about your depth, trade spiller & rayrice for him, since you can afford it and you can re-hab peoples careers, take it on as a challenge

Which is your opinion. I find it ironic that when I opine that he will get suspended, I get slammed for posting my "Opinion" - by someone else...posting their opinion. Unless your actual name is Roger Goodell, everyone is just posting their opinion. Sorry if mine differs from yours. Don't get mad bro.

I won't bash you...but I don't think we can say for certainty that he will be suspended given a guy with a much worse previous record in Lynch has not been touched.

Fair enough. I will be very suprised if he is not - and will eat my crow. But you can also bet, I'll bump the bejeesus out of this thread when he is. ;) You know, like all good SPers.

Hell, I have Turner and Rodgers...I hope he gets suspended just to have a clearer picture right now and see what the kid can do.

Does it matter that Turner's was in season, while Skittles was mot? Anything to see there?

Yeah I'm not sure how the Ray Lewis stuff from over a decade ago where he eventually cooperated with the police applies. But the fact that Marshawn Lynch hasn't been suspended and won't before his DUI trial after the season seems to suggest that Turner is likely to make it through the season.

When asked to walk a straight line, I bet he said he'd rather run straight to a line and fall down instead.

This is where I am coming from. Britt wasn't suspended for lockout/offseason stuff. Goodell has, at least on occasion, shown a propensity to treat the offseason like Vegas (what happens in the offseason....) - but in-season offenses have typically been dealt with quickly and fairly strongly.

Just asking a simple question, sue me! You know, I thought this was a FF board, where you ask FF questions. Sure I've had missed - see above where it says "Chris Johnson"?! Yeah, that was LAST WEEK and I gave up Mendy and Vernon Davis to do it! Some risks are worth the potential reward (see my above "hits" or Reggie Bush or Lynch at low points in their careers). I'm simply asking what Tuner's value might be right now for someone looking to buy low. Sure he might be 30, but so was F Jax last year who was on pace for a MVP type season.I'm not saying I'd give up a future 1st round pick for him or anything, of course I wouldn't. But would/should a 2nd round rookie pick be adequate?

Would you like some cheese with your whine? It's a DUI, relax. Turner has no prior records, he is a star(debatable)starter, this thing will blow over and everything will be forgotten off season. This ain't the boy scouts it's real money and life, your fantasy team roaster wishes ain't going to change that, watch and learn kid.Disclosure:

No Falcon RBs on any of my FF teams.

As a Turner owner, yes, I would take a second-round pick at this point. I've been offered a 'trade up' of about 2 rounds (a low 4th for a high 3rd in a 6-round draft). i should have taken it. not sure the other owner wants to do i tnow.

Police reports states that Mr. Turner, when asked to get out of the car, made a run for it. He got 2.2 yards but was wrapped up by a passerby on the way to a girl scout meeting.

Turner broke the NFL code of conduct - one that has seen numerous players suspended for the same infraction.

Have a great season guy.

Any suspension wouldn't be until after the season IMO. However, there is a good chance he gets benched this week by the coaching staff and if he does he may never become the feature back again. At this point Snelling may be at least as good a back as Turner and I wouldn't be surprised to see him and Rodgers get more play from here out.

Almost no chance of a suspension here imo.. until we see Lynch get suspended this year how is Turner gonna get suspended?

I don't know about 100%. Goodell seems to be pretty consistent about letting the legal process play out first.
