Michael Turner owners (1 Viewer)

I benched him last week, and may the next two weeks as he has tougher than normal matchups. I do like his schedule down the stretch, that's where he will pay dividends. So, next two weeks not so much, start him with confidence after that.
Rams are a top 10 d vs the run but Im not a believer in them yet - GB is not that good against the run......not sure how you can bench him unless you have really good other options. He gets 90% of the carries including GL on a pretty good O - I agree he looks a bit slower than usual but still looks like a top 10 down stretch to me
You know I'm changing my mind on Turner today. I just finished looking thru who the Rams played this year and I'm not sold on how good they are on run defense. Yes, it appears to be a tough run matchup for the Falcons on paper but the Rams haven't played a lot of above average run teams. I don't know how good the Falcons are at running the ball myself, but I think Turner will at least look better than he did last week against the Ravens.I'm starting Turner over Moreno, Miles Austin and Mike Williams TB (starting Bradshaw opposite Turner with Calvin and Hakeem N at WR).Debating all week who to go out of those 4 and I've leaned multiple ways all week. I like Miles versus Detroit, Mike Williams TB could catch a long one versus the 49ers, Moreno's been hot. But I'm not sold on the Rams run D, I'm in on Michael Turner today.
These were the posts that sold it for me. Thanks. Rolled with Turner and won my game. I'm liking his matchups down the stretch.
Glad it worked out! I'm not sure what I'm doing next week with Turner, I don't like him against Green Bay. He's always a threat for a short yardage TD but I don't think this is a good matchup for him at all. I may go another way, we'll see when the time comes. After Green Bay though, he's got solid starts just about the entire way thru.

I think C-Bound's assumption is that the Falcons will get down early, and need to dump and run with Snelling rather than pound Green Bay. If there is any chance for Turner to have success, the Falcons need to start the game off with points, or at least an inkling of controlling the clock. If they can manage the game the way they have against most teams this year, Turner will get 20+ carries easily. If the game begins to slip they will use Turner to block and Snelling to catch passes.
I would not assume the Falcons get down early. Green Bay has been feasting on a couple of the worst teams in the NFL lately, Atlanta is one of the best.....especially at home. I'd be very surprised if Green Bay gets up big early. In fact, I have a feeling they're due for a letdown. I would not bench Turner at home, ever.

Keep in mind that it didn't take Baltimore to be up big for him to be taken out of the game plan. Falcons led till late in the game and he still only got 17 carries and no catches. I'm just sayin if you have a decent, more well rounded option, I'd go that route.

I'm in the same boat here contemplated Turner to the bench. I have started him every game this year and he's been pretty good except for a few games. He doesn't run all that great imo, just kind of pile dives into the defensive line and lb's most of the time. We've just gotten lucky on a few goal line looks and an occasional break through the LOS.

Also, let me preface my opinion by saying I play in a PPR league where if you have a RB that gets taken out on all passing downs and the 2 minute offense, you leave a lot of points on the table that other guys in the league are picking up. I'm paying that price this year having Mendenhall and Turner as my main guys.

I guess I don't put Green Bay's rush defense in the same class as Baltimore's. Green Bay is middle of the pack in rush D.

Completely agree. If he wasn't getting 95%-99% of the team carries, he would be on most people's benches. It is also very obvious when ATL is going to run (when Turner is in) and pass (when Snelling is in). ATL needs to run more screens or short dumps to Turner. He was fun to watch when he was backing up LT in SD!

I'm assuming now is the time to handcuff him with Snelling if you haven't already. I benched him this week and got away with it, but plan on picking up Snelling this week.
