I have loved this guy for a couple of years, and I grabbed him in the second round, blessing my luck. I am extremely optimistic that despite the poor offensive line, despite the presence of Norwood, we're looking at a top ten RB1. This guy is a GREAT running back, and he's going to get handed the rock. A lot.

The Lions are a good starting opponent. He's going to run right over them. 100 yards and a TD.

What say you?

It does seem to be a good matchup on paper, but Ryan is going to have to make a few throws to open up some of the running lanes. If the rook can do that, then I also see a good game for Turner - I expect no less than 20-25 carries for him.

Put me in the Turner = stud camp.

I've grabbed him pretty late in a couple of leagues and I'm stoked.

he doesn't have a line at all, turner owners will not be rejoicing this year
I think that's way too preliminary to say. They did make some refinements on the OL, and brought in among the best run-blocking TEs in the game in Ben Hartsock. Time will tell.

Turner is prolly the most anticipated 08 RB to watch other than maybe McFadden.

I think Michael Tuner will be a huge bust.1) No offensive line.2) He'll face eight-men in the box because rookie quarterbacks struggle and the defense will not respect the passing game.3) The Falcons lost Crumpler, and Roddy White will be doubled-teamed as the primary receiving threat. The Falcons lack any other receiving threats to stretch the field or make the defense play off the line.

Great. Tim has invaded the Shark Pool. Do you really think there are zero threads about Turner, or did you feel the need to create a new one to profess your love?

Sorry about your luck; I got him at 4.09...lolz.Brady, Coleston, Grant, Turner, Gonzo, Bowe, SYoung, SRice, etc.

I have him in all my leagues as my #2.

For season, I like around 300-1250-10 td with 40 - 500 - 4 tds

For this week, how about 120 and 2 tds.

Actually, I believe this is where he actually began his rapid-fire thread-starting career and is only returning now that the season is here.

Oh. Hey, maybe the FFA will clear up now. I'll make that trade.

Sorry to disappoint you. Do you really think I'd leave the FFA?But you're right about this. Haven't really been paying much attention to the Shark Pool, and I should have realized there would be other Turner and Calvin Johnson threads. Won't do again unless there is something really new to offer. OK?

Dont think he sees anywhere near 300 carries given the presence of Jerious Norwood and the fact that they wont be grinding out many leads.Dont see anywhere near 40 catches given the presence of Jerious Norwood and the fact that Turner is not known as a pass catching back, to put it nicely.I own Turner. I like Turner. But your numbers are shticky and put him in LT territory.

I'll be happy with 16 carries, 80 yards and 4.1 ypc in Week 1. Just looking to see the Falcons look "better than inept" in regular season play.A Turner score PLUS a Ryan TD or heaven forbid even two would be about the best thing that could happen for Turner owners.ETA: 17/70/4.1 for the math geeks.

Turner was great in spot duty for the Chargers the past few years, but he sure didn't look like anything special in last year's playoffs when LT went down. And that was with a much better O-line & surrounding cast than he has in Atlanta.

I think he'll be serviceable, but I can't see studly in that situation.

Hes kind of a hard read, the talent is there. Its just a matter of seeing how the offense goes.

I suspect he will struggle early as Ryan takes his lumps, but will come on midseason when/if the offense gets into groove.

I'd really like to know the stats for how many times a RB has finished in top ten fantasy points with a rookie starting QB.

I believe he holds the single season record for Patriots threads started. I remember when the season ended he showed up int the FFA. He%s posted so many threads over their people forget he was HUGE in the pool 9 months ago.

The one thing I am pretty confused about is why Dodds only has Turner getting 16 carries. About the one sure thing in this game is that Turner will get 20 touches or more.

Thats 250+ carries on the year. Id take that i think :wall:Again, Norwood and then how often will these team be running the ball in the 2nd half..

Possibly my least favorite new poster of 2007-2008.

That will be an interesting opposing defense. What will the other one defender do?If the opposing defense plays 12-13 players, I agree, Turner and the Falcons will be in deep trouble. As it is, he'll get plenty of opportunities. Although his YPC may end up being a bit pedestrian, work horse backs are very valuable. The question is really whether he can carry the load. Having seen the way he plays, I believe he can.

Did you take MJD or Colston in the second? Who did you pick 4th? Can you explain how Turner was available in the 6th in a 3RB league?Genuinely curious; not trying to rip ya.

Honesty, the people i drafted with are not exactly sharks, and thats being nice. Its a 12 person league, and at least half seemed like they were playing FF for the first time. Although the league has been going on for a few years(my first in it).1.8 SJax

2.5 MJD

3.8 Colston

4.5 Marshall

Funny part is, i was made fun of for half of my picks.

Love Turner and have held onto him for the past three years in my main dynasty league waiting for this... Problem is he is my fourth best RB, stuck behind AP, Portis, and LJ, and we can only start 3. Oh well, it's a good problem to have.

You may find this not to be the case.

Definitely agree... but for now, those are my top 3. I'd love to see Turner show me enough to overtake one of them. Would make it an even better problem for me.

Traded B. Marshall for him at the begining of last year, now it's time to get a return on my investment.

Food for thought, but VERY similar things were said about R.Brown last year before the season started.

250 carries is less than 16 per game. they didn't sign him to that megadeal to carry the ball less than that. i think he can get 20 carries per game and norwood can still get 8-10. if he runs for less than 100 yards this week, i'll e disappointed.

the concerns about Ryan amuse me. Ryan isn't even in the bottom 5 of starting QBs in the NFL this weekend. In no order, Trent Edwards, Brodie Croyle, Jason Campbell, J.T. O'Sullivan, Joe Flacco, Tavaris Jackson and Kyle Orton can hardly be considered better than Ryan. The OL is a legit concern. But the QB concern is being overstated.

8 team leeg.
In my humble opinion anyone who plays in an 8 team league and touts their roster and/or draft in the shark pool should be throat punched by Hilary Swank from Karate Kid 3. Eight team leagues should be outlawed or at least restricted to young people like 16 and under. I am trying to rip you. I will apologize ahead of time for that and for viewing 8 team leagues as bush league. That is just the way I feel. Back on topic, in the one league I have Turner, I took him at 1.09 in a keep 2 with Owens and Wayne as keepers, (funny rules, don't ask) and I'm feeling ok about it. The value was there at the time and all I want out of him is 1000/10 which is achieveable.

I'm in a 2 man league and you should see my roster! :)

Wished I would have started him in my league where I have LT, Jackson, Portis, and Turner. Portis' measly point production wasn't his fault, but still. I do think Turner must be super excited to finally be a starting RB in his first game this weekend.

Now you see, you didn't have to say that. The questions were enough to embarrass the guy. And to his credit he was upfront about how it played out.
