Michael Turner (1 Viewer)

While I am not of the mind to look to deal Turner, the fact is, he could command a nice price in a trade now.

If you have a solid option to take the #2 RB slot on a team, would he be able to get say, Braylon Edwards? Or is that crazy talk.

/unabashed asst coach but interesting question as to his value.

its a good question. The reality is that Turner was a buy low at his ADP of 3rd/4th round. His real value seems more like late first to second right now. So if you should certainly expect to get somebody of that caliber for him if you put him on the block. Edwards fits. Not crazy. Same for Fast Willie.

Man, I totally missed the boat on this guy. And the writing was on the wall that hed break out with so many long runs in the preseason.

Congrats to all those who targetted him - looks like a pretty solid RB this year.

SELL HIGH, Lions are terrible
You're right. And Turner did what a good RB does against a terrible defense: he ran all over them.If you watched the game, then it would be evident to you that Turner is a special back. He has a very rare combination of power, size, speed, and elusiveness. Sure, he won't put up 220 and 2 every week, but I'd say he is still a hold. The guy is good.
   :goodposting: :goodposting: It's not just that Turner exploded for 220 and 2, it's that he completely OWNED a weak opponent the way the truly elite backs usually do. Like Adrian Peterson last year, there are going to be games that he is held in check because he's facing a decent defense and playing from behind, but also like AD, he's liable to go off and break even a good defense's back in any given week.

it was week one vs. the lions. so if he has a bad game next week, i'm sure there will 10 threads saying he's a bust. my point is he aint gonna put these kinda numbers every week.
Ya think?

After this week, do you think Turner is a top 10 back? Top 5?
The schedule is not great. Next 5 games: @ TB, KC, @ Car, @GB, Chi before the bye week. When the playoffs come he finishes with TB and @ Minny in Wks 15,16. And I saw no reason to change my mind about the fact that he isnt likely to get a lot of catches. So those are the knocks..But Im nitpicking. He looked completely legit yesterday, and Matt Ryan will make Atlanta serviceable enough for Turner to succeed.

And Footballguys composite pre-season PPR ranking put him right behind Edgerrin James this year. NICE

We'll see.

So what do you guys think after he played a team NOT the Detroit Lions?
not a surprise to me at all. I was trying to temper some of the Turner mania this week. Don't get wrong I like him a lot but people were getting a little crazy calling him a top 10 back after one big week against the Lions (who gave up 48 today).

I think Tampa's run D is as good as Minnesota's, and Atlanta doesn't have the passing game to keep them honest. Turner will be fine. I think we just saw both his high game and low game in back to back weeks.

Yah I just thought is was funny last week people were calling him the 2nd coming. I always thought heading into the season he'd be an RB2.

Ironically though, Green Bay's total output from RB's on the ground was 100 yards.Turner is going to have some down weeks, but even RB 1's don't always have great games.

the sad thing is you can beat them however you want. GB was banged up at the RB position so they just passed on them all day..
