So my company has offered as a "benefit" the Microsoft Home Use Program where I got a full copy of Office 2013 for $10 a few years ago. I think the idea is that my company buys a lot of Microsoft products so they made Office 2013 available to employees as a great discount. I searched on-line and many companies offer this benefit, as does the military and many schools.
But today I got this e-mail:
Company's current agreement with Microsoft, which expires at the end of this year, includes a Home Use Program, that allowed some software to be acquired for personal use at a nominal fee (for example, US $10). The next agreement will not include a Home Use Program. Microsoft's records indicate that you participated in the Home Use Program. If your home computer has Microsoft Office installed under the Home Use Program, licensing terms require you to uninstall the software before December 31, 2015. Microsofts FAQs include information about Home Use Program eligibility. If you have a question that is not answered by the FAQs, please contact Microsoft.
So for the techguys, do I need to uninstall? Will Bill Gates delete Office 2013 from my home computer? Should I ignore the e-mail?
TIA.
