Mike and the Mad Dog show (Not Done!) (9 Viewers)

I missed the show today -- catching up on it now. I swear, this guy has superpowers.

He gives the Mets score.... (they are trailing 1-0, top 6th). "One run might be enough the way the Mets are going."

Within two minutes, this happens:

Bartolo Colon (COLON!) doubles. Eric Young doubles, Colon scores. Wright singles, Young scores. 2-1 Mets.

They go on to win, 3-2.
Two innings later: "I would be SHAWKED if Colon doesn't pitch the 9th. No way he doesn't stay in there. You can't bring in the bullpen here. He's only thrown 82 pitches."

Monz, in his ear: "They already lifted him for a pinch-hitter, Mike."

OMG, it got even better after that. This guy is like having Christmas every day. Uploading now.

He also keeps going on and on (and on) about all of the low-scoring games in MLB this year. The truth of the matter is, as of this morning, 515 games have gone over the posted total in Vegas, and 500 of them have gone under. Scroll to the bottom here:

He only sees what he wants to see. You don't hear a peep out of him when there were a ton of high-scoring games the night before.

Not sure how this proof that the games are not low-scoring.

That's exactly what it is, unless you have seen some game totals of 2.

Vegas is going to call the games evenly no matter what. If next year, every game averaged 30 runs per game, but they went over the total 515 times and under 500 times, would you say that is proof that the games are not high scoring?

Kind of a ridiculous analogy. I've been gambling forever and I don't see any dramatic changes in posted totals this year compared to years past. So if more games than not result in more runs "than predicted," how do we have a run-scoring problem?

I show that through June 11, the average team had scored 4.16 runs per game, whereas last year through June, it was 4.23.

So I definitely agree that there is not really much difference overall run scoring. I just don't agree with that methodology of how many games have gone over or under. I suppose you could make a case for it within the first few weeks of the season, but you know that Vegas is going to adjust quickly to get the numbers right.

I don't disagree with any of that. Just can't figure out Tubby's agenda. He's on the soapbox screaming about how nobody can hit and he's pondering lowering the mound again.

The league looks the same as it ever did (post-Bonds) to me.

Agree with Long Ball - it just tells me that the books are doing their job correctly.

Need run comparisons to previous years really to see if the Pope is right for once on this one.

Maybe he watches a lot of Rays games.

But if Mike is correct and there is a huge scoring crisis, shouldn't you be able to simply blind-bet every under every night, and then quit your job? The numbers say otherwise.

And again, the totals are no lower than they have been in the recent past. So where is all of this lack of scoring?

That's all I'm sayin.

A caller told Mike that the Redskins used to have an arrow on their helmets.

He didn't believe him.

How does an NFL fan not know that?

Then he comes back and says that his guys informed him that they had the arrow logo "just for 4 years"...

As if that doesn't count and he was right all along.

Goodness, what a ####ing brutal show today. Are we really going to spend five and a half hours pondering where Carmelo Anthony will play basketball next season?

So they got on the subject of cant miss prospects that missed. Mike rattles off all the usual names. Five minutes later a caller calls in and says dont forget about Billy Beane. Mike says he was just focused on the local teams. :oldunsure:

Today, 1:30-ish.

"This Yankee team has no shot of coming back if they get down by five runs. Game over. Even down by 3 or 4 runs, game over."

Tonight, Toronto was leading 6-0 after 5. Yanks just tied it 6-6 in the 7th.

I'm telling you, he is ####ing MAGICAL.

I actually did appreciate his take on the fact the Yankeea have honored way too many players and retired way too many numbers

He thinks only the following should be enshrined in monument park

The Big Four

Yogi

Whitey

Mariano

Jeter

No Maris, Donny, Reggie, Elston, Billy or Scooter

Ill disagree on Donnie & Scooter but agree with the rest.

Typical question:

"What about the bullpen right now? What about the bullpen right now? The bullpen right now, how do you feel about it?"

While I agree, how the #### do you not have Ruth or Mantle? Of the others you mention Mantle would have to be there as well if think.

Who do you think is part of the Big Four?

Didn't see that.

Carry on.

I loved tubby's reaction and discussion to the caller who asked him about if he would sign Lester to the Yankees.

It was clear he had no clue about Lester and had to start asking about his age. Then he fumbled around with how long of a contract he would give.

Great stuff as always

I neva said dat! I said ya couldn't get da Cavs at 70 ta 1. I neva said yestaday! Ya outta ya mind. Use ya noodle.

Yesterday he said granderson won a championship with the yankees. A caller called in and corrected him and told him he was wrong and he hemmed and hawed and asked "was he not on the 2009 team?" "Its possible im wrong. You could be right" lmfao guy cant even admit when hes wrong. He couldve been wrong
