Mike Anderson Draft Tracking Thread (1 Viewer)

I spoke on the phone last night to a starter on the Denver O-line - I grew up with him and he is getting me some stuff for a charity auction. In his words "Mike Anderson will be the man, he has looked awsome. Bell will spell him but for now Anderson will get most of the touches." Nothing we didn't know already, but it reaffirms my plan to take him at either 3.10 or 4.3 tonight in a 12 team redraft, depending on how fast RBs are going off the board. He then added "The real surprise has been Ron Dayne. I don't know why he sucked in New York - nobody can tackle him in practice."

Damn fine bit of info there. I trust you aren't BSing. Great, great stuff Nigel. Very helpful.

Mike Anderson - 3.01

Date of Draft: 8/21Number of teams: 12Round.Pick selected: Auction Format$200 CapOptional information:start 1qb, 2rb, 4wr, 1te, D, KRough characterization of your league (Sharks, Gups, mix, etc): MixWhen was Tater Bell taken? $25Other comments to add: Had to save $ to make sure I got him at the end of the draft. Was bid up to $15 for Anderson. $25 on bell was a waste, but $40 for the Denver backfield with insurance is Great to me.Also got Manning for $57, Cumar $31

Sunday I took him at 3.8 after going against every fiber of my being and selecting Manning in round 1. I paired Anderson with Westbrook and later snagged Davis so I have a lot riding on the Marine this year. I'm not really worried about it though.

So.. is he pimping Dayne at the end there or is he indicting the Denver Defense?

Can someone give me a min-bio of Anderson?

I see he rushed for 1,487 yards in 2000 as the Denver starter. Then, he dropped off quite a bit in 2001 with only 678 yards. In 2002 and 2003, Portis obviously took over and last year Anderson was out all year.

What did you think of Anderson prior to the 2000 season? Were expectations high or low for him?

And, why did he lose his starting job in 2001?
Because Mike Shanahan runs a union shop for his RBs. Seniority matters. Terrell Davis was ahead of him based on experience and past performance. Always remember this when it comes to the Denver running game.

Was pleased to get Bell at a reasonable place in the draft. Didn't have to burn an earlier pick like a Priest drafter has to do with Larry Johnson. Feel good to finally resolve the Mike Anderson drama.
