I know the easy answer is whatever you can get for him but I am looking for some kind of bar.

I own him in two leagues. One I need him and will hold but the other I am going to look to trade. Do you think hes worth a top ten WR if the team is desperate at RB?

just looking for some opinions here... :popcorn:

 
Top 10 WR is probably too much. I would say a top 15WR like Colston or Dez Bryant is reasonable if the owner is desperate at RB. Forte will likely be back in 3-5 weeks, so I don't think anyone will overpay.

 
I forte indeed has a high ankle sprain, Bush's value should be inflated all season. I say that b/c i just dont see a 100% full recovery from a high ankle sprain mid season. Forte will def be back but to what extent?

 
His production should be superior to Forte's potential while Forte is out. Bush is going to get the majority of the carries AND the goalline work.

You'll lose the value that is built in from him playing the Rams. The initial timetable whether it's true or not will be for week 7 after their bye. That means three games before Forte returns. Bush will lose a tremendous amount of value AFTER the Rams game unless you're dealing with idiots.
 
I would say a Stevie johnson type receiver would fit the bill. Basically, I doubt you would get a top WR unless forte is expected to be out something like 6-8 weeks and I doubt you would get the guys that have the higher upside. Like, if you were trying to send him to me and I had Dez or Torrey Smith or even Anotnio Brown, I'd likely be thinking "unless I have ZERO RBs, I'll flex the guy I got and hold". But you might get a guy that could be a very good player that people are kind of cooled off of, like Stevie Johnson.

 
steve johnson? Greg Jennings ? meh. wait till bears 100% confirm his timeline. sell to a panicked Fjax or forte owner who didn't back up their studs. i'd say fair value for a starting 3 down rb is a top tier te or wr

Are you saying that because you have Michael Bush on your team (in your sig)?Because, honestly, unless Bush is going to "for sure" be the guy for most of the season, why would you ever trade a top tier TE or WR for a short-term rental? Putting some names to it, who is going to give Vernon Davis for Bush? Eric Decker or Jeremy Maclin? Even if Forte was the only RB you had, for most teams, it just doesn't add up. Most people would rather buy something MUCH cheaper or play russian roulette fro three weeks than give up a top tier, every week starter, only to see Bush lose value in a few weeks. JMO.
 
As long as the Bears play better than last night Michael Bush probably has more value on your team than what you'll get in a trade.

 
Bush is a great running back. I have no idea why he gets relegated to backup status except that he plays with other great running backs, McFadden and Forte.

I would not trade him.

I *would trade for Forte though in terms of looking ahead to the playoffs, Forte should be back by then.

 
I view Bush as a solid RB2 for the weeks while Forte is out but just a sold backup RB4 type guy when Forte is healthy. I think anyone trading him should be happy to get a low end WR2 if they can pull that off. I think a realitic expectation might be to start looking in the WR20 range.

 
I see bush being a guy with an fairly large upside while forte is out.

He'll get pretty much all the carries, plus receiving and goal line now.

One of the very thin true #1 on a team with no committee, plus goal line.

For someone who wants to upgrade there RB's or are thin plus extra Wideouts

that "could" get a push to moving a top tier receiver to acquire bush, even

more so if it's to the Forte or Fred Jackson owner that could use a fill in.

Plus a few of us figure Forte will be out a while with this, and be "hampred"

for a bit when he does come back, so bush may play longer then some are hoping.

With that first week Welker had I could see a Bush for Welker type trade there.

(panicked Welker owner and needing RB help)

While he may have some good games because of the reason stated above, I doubt this is true on average. Mainly because I think Bush isn't as good as Forte, and will do less with the non-goalline carries. And you can't count on a goalline plunge every week. Bush is playing behind a worse line than he had in Oakland, and isn't remotely as talented a running back as Forte, IMO. He's a big dude that doesn't play big, and isn't particularly fast. I couldn't care less what he ran at his pro day, he's not fast. He's slower than Forte. Hmm, maybe not slower than Forte, but it takes him a lot longer to get to full speed than Forte, which for all intents and purposes, makes him slower than Forte. His vision is where he is really behind Forte, tho. Forte has always been underrated as a ballcarrier in my opinion. He has great vision, rarely making the wrong cut, or plowing into his blockers. I have seen every carry of Bush's NFL career, the number of times he ran up the back of a blocker is unreal. Bush is such a great running back, that when he finally became a free agent, the best gig he could land was as a backup to one of the few bellcows in the league. If I was a Bush owner, I would be looking to trade him. To the Forte or FJax owner, or to that one guy that always thought Bush would be Jerome Bettis if he only got his shot.
 
Solid RB2 right now for sure, I am curious to see what his trade market value right now is though. I wouldn't want to give up a WR2 or RB2 type player for him. I guess it depends on how much you value short term value.

 
In a PPR dynasty, what do you think he could fetch? Obviously no one is going to break the bank, but would a Leshoure or a LaFell be about right? Or what about someone like McCluster and a 2nd round pick?

I think, in a dynasty, those types of offers are probably pretty close to the most you'll get. He's 28 years old, and locked in as a backup. But because of his role, even as a backup, he's a RB3.

If you're in a dynasty league, and you aren't competitive this year, I think this is the best time to trade him, as his value will drop off a cliff soon due to his age. I would think doing an offer similar to the ones listed above would be a good move.

 
I can get Kenny Britt for him in my 12 team PPR, but it would leave me absurdly thin at RB (McCoy, Martin, Hillis, Vereen) so I think I've got to hold. I've got another owner on board for swapping Lafell for Ryan Williams to get some RB depth, but still don't think that's enough if McCoy or Martin get dinged, or if Martin's situation doesn't continue looking so great.

 
I would wait to trade him until after the Rams game. If he goes for 100/2 TDs he will be the ultimate sell high.

This is simply not true unless you are playing with idiots. Every game played should lower his value. Especially if one of those games is against the Rams. His value will not get higher than it is right now. I think the consensus right now is that people are expecting worst case with Forte. There's always a chance he recovers quickly and becomes questionable for week 4. How easy it will it be to trade Bush when people aren't sure if Forte is coming back for the next game? Even if he doesn't play that week, he might remain questionable for the following week. Today, Forte is out, tomorrow he might be questionable. If you want to trade Bush, you trade him today.
