Mike Martz fired (1 Viewer)

Confirming earlier reports, SI.com's Jim Trotter reports the San Francisco 49ers have no interest in hiring former Lions OC Mike Martz. San Francisco lacks the personnel to run Martz's system. Also, a club source said that fired Dolphins HC Cam Cameron is not high on the San Francisco's priority list at the moment.Whew! No Martz, no Cam suckage. Now we just need to avoid the suckage of Billick although he is the least sucky of the 3 for Gore owners.
Cams a pretty good OC. Would do wonders for Gore and the Oline I think
:rant:Cam did wonders for Ronnie Brown - I think he'd be great for Gore.

My thoughts exactly, plus he runs the same system as Norv Turner, which would mean less disruption.

Not suprised. What has Martz ever really done but alienate every running game he has ever had. What he did in St. Louis worked well because of the talent that surrounded him. Not every team has a probowl QB, 2 probowl WR's and a hall of fame RB who is a great pass catcher.

The sad thing is he will probably get a job somewhere else when in fact he shouldprobably be coaching NCAA. In NCAA you can get away with throwing the ball 50 times a game.

His offense is too predictable, there is a reason why the 49ers said they were never really interested in him. They have a star RB and they know if they bring in Martz they will likely reduce the number of rushing opportunities for him, likely reducing their chances of winning.

Go to the NCAA's!

Fortyniners Offense-TM- 49ers Jan. 4 - 8:41 pm et

ESPN's John Clayton reports the 49ers have contacted Mike Martz about interviewing for their offensive coordinator vacancy.

Maybe Martz will end up in San Francisco, after all. No interview has been set yet, but Martz will meet with head coach Mike Nolan next week. Nolan is also working to schedule interviews for Cam Cameron, Brian Billick, and Hawaii's June Jones after meeting with Chan Gailey on Friday.

June Jones??? So they want to interview Jones AND Martz? Sounds like someone can't decide what their offensive philosophy should be.As a Gore owner, PLEEEEEASE go with Cameron!

Martz would be a horrible mess with blood, guts, and broken bones spewed across the landscape of the NFL. (and that blood, guts and broken bones will be from the Niners)We know June has his new job already.

I feel about the same blahness about Billick and Chan.

I think the best fit for OC in SF is easily Cameron.
