Question for the final installment. This might be impossible to answer (I'm having a tough time figuring out how to ask it), but I'll give it a shot.Last year, it seemed like everyone who was a regular in this forum owned the same few DBs and it was a bit of a running joke. LaRon Landry, Patrick Chung and TJ Ward were constantly discussed and we all suffered together when Chung was benched and Landry went on IR. Overall, though, we all probably benefited massively because of how well these players performed and how much value we got out of them based on where we were able to draft them.So my question is this: who are the DBs that we are all going to own together this year? I'm guessing Eric Berry will be one, but are there other names that will present great value on draft day? I'm not talking about late-round steals, but merely the guys that we'll be able to draft as the 5-15th DBs off the board but who will end up in the top 5 of scoring.
Instead of posting this in your 20 questions thread Jene, I'll begin a new thread for this one.If Mike Mitchell wins himself that SS job in Oak he could become a household name pretty quickly, I wonder how much of a hit Branch would take if he moved over to FS. I'm not exactly a raiders fan, but I have a friend who is, not to mention I saw some pretty mean highlights of this guy out of college. I've thought this has been a pretty strong option for more than a year now. What are your thoughts?

M. Mitchell and G. Wilson Buf are my top sleepers that I feel in tackle heavy leagues could finish in the top 10 if they get the node at SS full time.

Predictions

SS Mitchell 95 solo, 28 assist, 3 sacks, 2 FF, 2 INT

FS Branch 79 solo, 21 assist, 1 sack, 1 FR, 4 INT

G. Wilson 85 Solo, 35 assist, 2 sacks, 1FF, 2FR, 1INT

I'm the one who originally asked the question and I love the answer of Mike Mitchell. That's exactly the kind of name I was hoping to dig up.

I'm also liking George Wilson just look at his 09' numbers. I think he could outproduce Donte Witner's numbers from last year, agree'd if he get's full time snaps. Surprisingly he's already 30 though.

Other players I'm high on.

Tom Zbikowski - if Landry leaves, which is very probable, and he starts, also probable. Again depending on how much he plays, he looks like a talented player who could produce well and become one of those household names rather quickly.

Jaiquawn Jarrett - Could be a starter day 1, and everything I see and hear about him says he could be pretty good. Another favorable position, problem is this lockout could hold him back some. I would own Kurt Coleman as insurance early in the season as well.

Darian Stewart - Might not start, probably behind James Butler at the moment. If he were to win a starting job though, it sounds like the team likes him. And he projects as an in the box safety, which can lead to fantasy gold, in terms of DB's.

Kam Chancellor - Is tough to call, no certainty he starts either, but I think he does. Another Pseudo-Linebacker type player, may be a long shot, but I think I was first lead onto him at this website.

Kam Chancellor, George Wilson, Taylor Mays and Shiloh Keo are at the top of my preseason watch list. Erik Coleman, Chris Crocker, Courtney Greene, Jaiquawn Jarrett are strong considerations, too.

I'm not getting behind any of the above as slam dunk top ten players in the mold of Landry or Chung last year. I'd probably bet on George Wilson being the likeliest to crack DB1 ground right now, but I'm very anxious to see what becomes of Chancellor.

Mitchell has been on the watch list since he was drafted. If the dominoes fall such that he plays an every-down SS role in Oakland, he fits this discussion, too. Branch should be effective in the single high safety role, but I don't know that he'll get the slot corner duties Huff got at times, which would make it tough for Branch to be more than an up-and-down DB2/3.

No love for Zbikowski in Baltimore? I just saw a report from NFL Network that he thinks Bal. would strongly pursue bringing Landry back, thus killing this idea. But doesn't it still seem unlikely he returns, and if the Z man were to start, wouldn't he probably be a pretty good bet at fairly high productivity?
