Mike Williams to visit with the Titans

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Free agent WR Mike Williams is scheduled to visit with the Titans on Tuesday.

Williams, who was released by the Raiders last week, has consistently been mentioned as a perfect fit in Tennessee, where Norm Chow, his offensive coordinator from USC, is now a coordinator. The Titans also are weak at receiver, meaning that if Williams has a chance to sign with a team this season, this is his best shot.

:bag:

Makes sense, actually. I wouldnt mind seeing this bum help out the bum Vince. He can't be worse than whomever the Titans are throwing out there, can he? Its amazing how far he has fallen. Amazing at USC, ot screwed by the NCAA, then just didnt pan out.

Tennessee will be a graveyard for WRs, much like Atlanta was when Vick was still in the league.

It makes sense because Chow in the second USC coach to give FMW a chance, no one else even nibbled. If it had not been for ex-USC coachs Williams would have been out of the league after last season.

He's got no shot. It's time to stop making excuses for a guy. By that same logic, he would of succeeded with USC's Kiffin.

Not too many franchises want guys that can't get seperation with suspect hands.

the titans dont need him. I wish they would just draft a stud WR. We now have a complete defense with young players still waiting, a stud QB, and running game that does what it needs to, and its time to invest a high pick in a receiver.

That is good stuff. Collins is ok and once in a while he can have a big error free game but he is far from a stud. I know you can't be talking about that thing that is the starter over in TENN.

I just heard on ESPN that Fat Mike weighed in at 261 pounds when he visited the Titans following his release from Oakland.

Then, after Thanksgiving, he weighed in at 271 pounds.

Who is the stud QB?Young is more of a "bus driver" QB, run a little, throw a little, don`t turn it over. Try to win 13-10 type of QB. The NFL shows no mercy to the running QBs that dominate in college.
2 weeks, 562 yards later...

Word on the street is that every pizza shop in the Nashville area is on high alert at the prospect of Mike Williams and LenDale White being on the same team? They are a Sebastian Janikowski away from needing two team planes.

For this season. After the draft next season he will have less of a chance. The farther away we get from his draft date the less his chances. He has done nothing Since college to help himself. If he couldnt stick in Oak with his former coach thats knows him,i dont see him making it anywhere. And to be honest i dont think he cares. Atleast thats what he is showing us.I just hope he saved his money that he didnt earn. Because the well is down to a drip....

if former coach in Oakland is a reason, why is Chow in Tennessee not a reason?

Fantasy players need to just forget this guy. I understand looking for potential sleepers, wanting to pull some guy from the heap and end up with a bargain, but Williams is already far down that same slippery slope that fellow first rounders David Terrell and Charles Rogers went down. There's no returning for Mike. He's 40 pounds out of shape, he never learned dedication to his craft, has no self-discipline, and has shown nothing at this level that would give anyone reason to believe in him.

Better to spend your time looking for the future Wes Welkers of the world than to be distracted by losers like Williams. He'll never be fantasy-usable. Never.

He did get his money, though. I'll never be fooled by one of these bums again. That is why I stayed clear of Robert 'I'm cashing in' Meachem this past year. Digging for articles about these guys in December - February is gold.
