Mike Williams, WR OAK (1 Viewer)

I stopped here.
Why? Eric Allen said he's one of the best corners in the league. Their pass defense was statistically the best in the league last year (though it wasn't as good as the stats imply since they were behind all the time).
because to tab him as a "STAR" is REALLY stretching it. I can see where the article is going from right there. It's a homer article pumping the virtues of a home town kid. Not saying Asomugha isn't decent...in fact, that's what he is..decent but is NO WHERE near STAR status.
I see, your issue is with a player you don't hear much about being labeled a "star". I suppose that's all in how you define "star". How about

NAPA, Calif. (AP) -- Twice in a span of three plays, Mike Williams worked his way free from underrated, one of the best in the NFL, cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha near the goal line and caught a pass from Josh McCown for a touchdown.
LOL  Got to love the comments from people who have NO CLUE what they are talking about.. Remember the Raiders D is one of the better ones in the NFL.. Scary thought..

Not worth a pickup in fantasy football. Johnnie Lee Higgins has had a better camp, and has a better shot at getting in the game.

Cripes, Williams isn't even at his target weight yet. He had a hamstring injury in mini-camp, yada yada yada.

Ha ha, lots of :headbang: at the guy talking smack about Asomougha. He's decent, huh? You, sir are clueless.

And to the guy who talked about BMW learning an offense that was the worst in the NFL last year... You do know that Art Shell and his bed and breakfast coordinator were fired months ago and that the new coaching staff has implemented a new system, right? Oh, I guess not.

I bet you guys were investing in dot coms in 2000 and real estate in 2006. Keep staring into that rear view mirror as you drive off the cliff.

ha ha ha. You do know that the new Raiders head coach could not even get a head coaching job at a middle tier college (Minnesota) and that he will be playing a rookie at QB. You also have to understand that the reason that Lane Kiffin won at USC was not because he was some sort of master mind schemer who spent hours and hours designing complex offensive plays and studying defenses. He won most of the time on TALENT alone. This will not work in the NFL. It is going to be a very very long season offensively for the Raiders. Mike Williams was given every possible opportunity with the Lions and still failed. MW has talent but much like his coach he will soon find out that TALENT alone just will not do in the NFL.

I honestly do not know which would be worse DC or JR - last I saw DC play he liked very bad (but that was with MIA). It still does not negate the point that the the Silver and Black are going to stink offensively this year.
