2-3 is pretty much his norm with Kitna...Only has 1 game with 4 or more receptions over his last 7 games.. what are you projecting for him against Arizona?
AZ D may get more receptions from Kitna than Austin.
Yahoo has already scored it as a fumble.Did that last play count as a fumble lost for Austin?
Indeed my friend. Took a lot of guts to play him.Good time for his best game in a month. :X
Not really for me, Austin's backup is probably starting for Andre.Indeed my friend. Took a lot of guts to play him.
Well Kitna was looking alot more for him this week than he normally does. I think he had at least 7 tarrgets before he got injured. It may not be of any help for many Austin owners but I think we saw conclusively tonight what many of us have known - the problem with Austin's production wasn't Austin, it was Jon Kitna. Kitna's inability to throw downfield has killed Austin's value. McGee showed that ability and not surprisingly Austin came through with a huge play and a big game.
And Austin did nothing to help Kitna... Kitna targeted him, was accurate, and Austin did nothing with it.. Guys are getting carried away with Austins one big play. kitna targeted him on a deep play too with a perfect pass, and Austin didn't bring it in... not Kitna's fault.Well Kitna was looking alot more for him this week than he normally does. Looks like it, NFL.com scoreboard has it as a fumble as well.are those fumbles?Yahoo has already scored it as a fumble.Did that last play count as a fumble lost for Austin?

That's debatable. Austin was wide open on a slant route that probably would have gone for a 50-yard TD but Kitna threw the ball nowhere near him. The pass in the end zone could have been thrown better too. Austin had a step on his man on that play. I agree about the drop on the pass downfield. That was all on Austin.Bottom line, though, is the production and Austin's production in just one half with McGee dwarfed his production in every game but one with Kitna. For whatever reason (and I think it's primarily been due to Kitna), Kitna and Austin have not gotten on the same page. I think it's interesting that McGee, who hadn't thrown an NFL pass before tonight, did not have the same issues getting the ball to Austin that Kitna has had from the moment he replaced Romo. And Austin did nothing to help Kitna... Those point totals were really boosted by redzone TDs, which is surprising, because when Romo was still playing Austin was racking up yards but not TDs...You can look at Austin and his production quite a few different ways, I still dont know how I'll feel about him come next yearThat's debatable. Kitna targeted him, was accurateFantasywise he was ok. In 9 games without Romo, Miles has hit double digits 5 times, and one week with 9pts. Not too bad with a backup. I drafted him as my number 2, and he gave that to me. I was happy with his fantasy year.
Well sure, it would be ideal to have both red zone and yardage production at the same time. He would be top 5 WR. Still, after today he's pushing top 10 WR, that works for me. Next year maybe he takes that next step, and I'll gladly take him again. Those point totals were really boosted by redzone TDs, which is surprising, because when Romo was still playing Austin was racking up yards but not TDs...You can look at Austin and his production quite a few different ways, I still dont know how I'll feel about him come next yearThat's debatable. Since you said that, I had to check where he was in my league and he's WR14...Im real surprised he's actually that high, and that doesnt include tonight's numbers. He was my WR2 on another team and his season this year felt pretty disappointing, though preseason I had very high expectations and had him as the #3 WR.Well sure, it would be ideal to have both red zone and yardage production at the same time. of course kitna's not gonna hit miles for long td's as often as romo did, but outside of that one 30+ yard td vs the giants i cant remember any other. For next year i' loving miles a s buy low guy with huge upside. Dez is fragile and unlike kitna when Austin runs down the field, romo will actually look for him.....tonight is proof, austin was on his way to another typical Kitna-Austin game, 2 catches for 37 yards at the half, McGee comes in and somehow he's able to gets 4 for 80 something yards and a touchdown in 1 half? Those point totals were really boosted by redzone TDs, which is surprising, because when Romo was still playing Austin was racking up yards but not TDs...You can look at Austin and his production quite a few different ways, I still dont know how I'll feel about him come next yearThat's debatable. So you had high expectations as a #3 WR going in, but felt disappointed by high end #2 WR numbers in the end.Since you said that, I had to check where he was in my league and he's WR14...Im real surprised he's actually that high, and that doesnt include tonight's numbers. I'm going to target him as well. He was a WR1 with Romo and a WR3 with Kitna. With Kitna out, he put up WR1 numbers again. So in my opinion, as long as Kitna isn't the QB there's plenty to like about Austin. He's a stud talent and will have a top QB (Romo) throwing to him again. If Bryant stays healthy, he could become the No. 1 WR on the Cowboys and that will impact Austin's value but that will also result in more single coverage. Romo, unlike Kitna, isn't going to ignore Austin the way Kitna did so often. I feel very confident in predicting that. So if Austin gets singled up, he'll get his looks and the downfield action will return with Romo which is a huge part of Austin's game. I think Bryant may be the more talented WR so he could become a Top 10-15 WR next season if he can stay healthy. But I think Austin could be a Top 15-20 WR. A rock solid WR2 who will generate a good number of WR1 games with Romo. If the buzz gets heavy for Bryant that could push Austin's value down and if people just look at Austin's numbers this season and don't factor in the reasons for the decline that could push his value down as well. It's my hope that people will be clamoring to get Bryant and turn Austin into a nice value pick. He will be high on my list of WR targets in 2011.If there is a 2011.Well sure, it would be ideal to have both red zone and yardage production at the same time. He would be top 5 WR. Still, after today he's pushing top 10 WR, that works for me. Next year maybe he takes that next step, and I'll gladly take him again.![]()
I meant I had him projected as the #3 WR overall. So being the #14 WR overall isnt terrible, it just felt like he put up more like a #25-30 WR season. Surprised he has a shot to be in the Top 12.So you had high expectations as a #3 WR going in, but felt disappointed by high end #2 WR numbers in the end.Since you said that, I had to check where he was in my league and he's WR14...Im real surprised he's actually that high, and that doesnt include tonight's numbers.
