Austin did get 2 redzone targets in addition to the one he scored on. One, Kitna threw low and away. Austin had to stop and dive kind of backwards. He got both hands on the ball, but it would have been a great catch to make. Not many receivers could have come down with it. The second was a wheel route in the right corner of the endzone. Kitna lobbed and Austin got 1 hand on it. The other hand got held by the defender, but no call. It would have been another tough catch had he been able to use both hands.I guess its good new bad news. At least he's getting redzone looks.. But......Yup. I'm not surprised that Hurd caught more passes. That really was pretty easy to see coming. Kitna did try to throw a couple of other passes to Austin in the end zone but he was way off target. Once again, when Austin caught the ball he made something happened. It makes no sense at all not to throw him the ball more but given how Kitna has ignored him from the moment he took over for Romo there's certainly no reason to be surprised that it happened again today.Only 7 targets. With the number of injuries in that receiving corp, that's ridiculous. The Cowboys are criminally under utilizing Austin.Watching the play-by-play (didn't see the game itself), it seemed like he did get a decent amount of targets.happy for the TD ...but just dont understand how they dont get him the ball more

Bryant is the wildcard next year. He was nursing an ankle pretty much the whole time Romo wsa around. They never really worked together when both healthy. So we don't really know how well those 2 will work together. I can't imagine that a healthy Dez won't take targets from Austin though. Dez is too talented.Looking to next year (thanks Kitna) - how far do you think he falls based on this bad run......I actually am high on him for next year...I think Romo will still use him a ton and may be able to get him at least a few rds lower thanks to the Kitna massacre.
Should have followed my gut. Lost by 1 point with Colston, would've been SB bound by 2 points had I played Miles.scrumptrulescent said:When all's said and done, I have a feeling I'm going to wish I'd played Austin over Colston. I know I can't do it, but I have a feeling since Austin's more explosive.
Austin only gets 2-3 catches a game with Kitna. Bottom line, end of story. Just glad one of those catches was a TD. Thats the best you can hope for with him....Should have followed my gut. I agree. It's hard to gamble on a guy who only gets a few looks a game.Austin only gets 2-3 catches a game with Kitna. Bottom line, end of story. Just glad one of those catches was a TD. I was going against the strongest team in the league. I gambled on Kerry Collins and V Jax....both worked out. My gut wouldn've gotten me the win.I agree. Yup. Right now Austin's ceiling isn't very high (2/3 catches and maybe a touchdown) while his floor is very low (2/3 catches and 0 TDs). There's no reason at this time to believe that's going to change regardless of the opponent. As far as next season I love Austin's value. I think he'll be no worse than a Top 15-20 WR with Romo and that's assuming Bryant steps into the No. 1 WR role. I could see them being the new version of Fitz/Boldin.Austin only gets 2-3 catches a game with Kitna. Bottom line, end of story. Just glad one of those catches was a TD. I don't know about that. Arizona never had a TE anywhere close to as good as Witten is who gets a lot of targets and catches. Would like to see it though. I have 1 each in my two Dynasty leagues.Yup. True but they did have productive No. 3 WRs which the Cowboys don't really have. I think Romo is going to be a monster next season. If Jones and Choice hold up on the ground they'll have offensive balance and the passing game weapons are off the charts. Back to Austin, I will be aggressively targeting him next year because I think people will be down on him after this year, not realizing this has been about Kitna moreso than Austin and because I think people will be aggressively pursuing Bryant, causing Austin to slip. Unfortunately, that doesn't do me any good this season.I don't know about that. Arizona never had a TE anywhere close to as good as Witten is who gets a lot of targets and catches.
