Pretty wild developing story.

Reported accounts so far suggest missing girls were tracked to a home of a known pedophile. Neighbors approached the home (apparently when cops didn't come). Man opened fire, then the cops came. Cops came and apprehended the man, but said they saw no evidence of the girls being there.

Neighbors stormed the home, found the girls (and 2 other boys), and burned down the house.

Again, I have no idea what the facts are, and surely there will be more to come out.

Agree with both here...don't care R vs D...don't care how famous...anyone involved should be punished to the fullest extent.  There is no room for that crap in our society.

Worth a read I suppose, but the tldr is - social media + deep distrust in the police can lead to serious negative consequences and a really ####ed up situation.

a few highlights regarding some earlier claims:

The two girls were found by their mother miles away from this house.  They denied ever being in the house.  

The cops had searched the house at least twice and had twice confirmed there were no kids inside, prior to the chaotic incidents yesterday.

The family of the two missing girls were not cooperative with police, and the police determined the conditions for an Amber Alert were not met.  Instead, the kids were reported as "critically missing."  There is no evidence they were taken or kidnapped or ever in any danger.

There is no evidence of any criminal activity taking place at the house.  The house was set on fire twice and appears to be a total loss.

Cops and fire-fighters were attacked with bricks and concrete and there was gunfire and injuries. The cops did not return any gunfire, but did use riot gear, tear gas and rubber bullets.

Don't forget the kicker. Thanks to all this vigilante "justice," a woman who lived in the upstairs of the burned-down house, who was in the hospital giving birth while all this was unfolding, has lost everything and is now homeless.

Great work, idiots.   Maybe leave the policing to the police; it's not as easy as it looks.

This situation was ridiculous. There were obviously not 9 girls missing in the standard meaning of missing. Sure, maybe their parents didnt know were they were, but there is no way this group of criminals located 9 legit missing kids in half a day. 

There has been zero proof of any trafficking and prior to burning the house they threw all of the TVs and electronics out the windows. You know, standard search and rescue stuff.
