Mini-camp eyes-on volunteers (1 Viewer)

With this Forum becoming the Shark Pool that it is, I think we can continue to stay well ahead of our competition with some smart mini-camp scouting.

We'll keep scouring for information in the usual places, but many of the beat writers aren't interested in and/or don't have to provide the detail us IDP need. Most of the rookies are going to be covered enough to know exactly what's happening (Poz, Beason). But we had Kerry Rhodes and a few others pegged very early last year with some killer eyes-on insider information. Our (not just FBG) rankings and projections will be much better much quicker if we can get some good folks checking out important situations.

Anybody planning on attending mini-camps over the next couple of weeks? I got homework for you.

Unfortunately, the Jets mini-camps aren't open to the public the way training camp is.

It should be an easy year to figure out tho... do the Jets cut Barton? If they do, Harris has no one to beat out to become the starter at the LILB spot. Revis is a lock to strat opposite Dyson, and the only position really up for grabs is the OLB spot between Hobson and Bowen. Coleman is sure to win the DE spot opposite Ellis. One more possible battle will be at one of the safety spots... Coleman vs. Eric Smith. That could be one to watch. Right now, I suspect it will be a rotation....

I haven't been to Packers training camp in years, but I'm very anxious to go. If I do, I'll bump this thread as I'm very interested in the progress of Jenkins as a 2 down end and 3rd down tackle. Also I want to see what happens opposite Collins, be it Rouse, Culver, or Underwood who will unseat Manuel.

Also, now that Barnett has signed Hodge may be given an opportunity to play MLB. I doubt it though as it seems they have drafted (or signed UDFA) guys to back up Poppinga and Hawk.
