Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio was noncommittal Wednesday when asked about Maurice Jones-Drew's (knee) status for Week 16 against Washington.

Asked if MJD might miss the game, Del Rio replied "I hope not. ... The way I look at it, we're always optimistic. We get the information to go through the week. Get the feedback from the player, from the trainer, from the doctors and all that, then make a determination." Jones-Drew is tentatively expected to play, although he too was cautious when asked to make a prediction.

This is def worth watching, I did not see the game but am curious why he sat out last drives in the 4th.

Rotoworld) Maurice Jones-Drew said his knee was not the reason he sat out the final couple drives of Sunday's loss to the Colts.

But he would not give other reasons and now Del Rio is acting Coy. I don't like this, at least at the beginning of the year he was very forthcoming that he was fine, but now he makes no other comments which to me sounds like he does not know either how his knee will react.

MJD KNOWS this is the championship round in FFL.................he'll be out there. :(
EXACTLY.....What I said about Adrian Peterson last week
MJD has a fantasy football radio show, Peterson doesn't. MJD has himself on his team, and he cares about other owners. I also believe he will play and will give 110% of his effort. BTW I am not a MJD owner.

MJD is on an actual football team which is tied for the division lead. He doesn't give a crap about your fantasy team, but he'll play if it's at all possible.

Rotoworld with their usual 100% certainty when there isn't any, but probably more encouraging than not...

Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) addressed the Washington media on a conference call Wednesday, and was joking and getting laughs from reporters. This doesn't sound like an injured player. Jones-Drew cracked up reporters by quipping "there's only three of them" when explaining why he enjoys the Jacksonville media. Despite sitting out the final two possessions of last week's loss to Indianapolis, MJD will be in the lineup against the Skins.

agree w/ rotoworld here. HUGE game for the jags. they need to win out and for indy to drop 1 of next 2. too much at stake for him to sit this week, methinks (says the mojo owner w/ no jennings cuff).

MJD is out of the playoffs because he lost last week thanks to his >10 pt performance. He has nothing to play for now.

He cares about mine, he's been on it since he was a rookie.

Has anyone noticed what Jennings has been doing?Even with MJD playing Jennings has put up three good (decent) weeks in a row.I remember Jennings from college and as a prospect for the Saints draft. If MJD is inactive Jennings could be an awesome start vs the Skins... and he might be a decent start even if MJD plays.

Thats a new one...a player will be in the lineup because "he didn't sound like an injured player" on the phone. That is taking medical science in a brand new direction! Bottom line is this: he couldn't play on the last two possessions of last week's very critical loss and I'm sure he would have if he could have. Friday's practice report will shed more light on whether he is fine, is nicked and could play but be limited, or if he might be out or used for an emergency only. Jennings is looking like a pretty good sleeper unless MJD suddenly practices in full Thurs and Fri. If MJD is out he could be a monster.

If MJD can't go, Jennings is nearly a must start. I agree with the guy above who said he is not a bad play even with MJD this week.

MJD: Out today, no practice.

Beat writer thinks he'll play but be limited.

taniaganguli Tania Ganguli

will he be 100%? absolutely not. but wouldn't surprise me if he plays RT @blitzagain: do you anticipate MJD to be a full go Sunday? #Jaguars

Honestly, I'd play Jennings over MJD. Jennings has been a bigger part of the passing game, has been in on more goal-line situations, and if there is a blowout(And the potential is there against a sorry Washington team), MJD will not be in

The Jaguars website confirmed via its Twitter account that the Week 16 status of Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) and Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) will be declared by Friday afternoon.

Both players sat out again on Thursday. Coach Jack Del Rio made it known this week that he detests game-time decisions because players will convince him they're ready to play when they're not. If the hyphen boys aren't ready to practice by Friday morning, there's a good chance they'll be held out against the Redskins. At this point, we're expecting both to play with limited effectiveness. Strangely, I'm not overly concerned if MJD sits here as long as they announce it early. I'm actually kind of curious to plug in Jennings who might even be a better play since he's healthy and in line for 80% of the touches I'd say.

I am probably a ##### but I grabbed Jennings and my opponent has MJD

Oh well, At least I didn't start Joe Webb Against him........ at WR

I did the same and dropped Fred Jackson for him :D But then again, if MJD is actually out, I may start Jenning over Bradshaw -

I did the same, but actually need him. In desperate need of a flex player this week and taking a shot with today's information. Even if MJD is active, I'll probably plug in Jennings anyway based on recent production and good chance for increased workload.

Very odd. Not that I'm complaining as an MJD owner by any means, but if this is such a "thread the needle" decision that's ballsy to say you'll formally announce his stauts Friday.

Why wouldn't the MJD owner already have him?
I do not know? But oh well. had all the chance in the world to pick him up. He will be screwed if MJD sits but I am in it to win it. Although I don't think it will matter MJD will probably play and screw me out of a championship

I can tell you why I don't have Jennings. He's a waste of a roster spot for the most part. We have 15-man rosters and 13 start every week. Jennings would be taking a zero because he'd have to play due to byes. He's available in my league and I would be surprised if he was picked up for the week.

MJD is not practicing today (Friday). Heres hoping he doesn't play so all of us MJD owners can start Jennings, otherwise both become basically unuseable.

Another MJD/Jennings owner here having a hard time deciding who to start.

The way I see it, if MJD practices even a little bit today then I will start him and expect at least 15 carries.

Well, this sucks for me.

We have limited roster moves and mine are gone with so many injuries to my WRs.

So now Im stuck with Beanie or Barber if MJD can't go.

MJD, Peterson, Gates owner here. Yeah, the league WAS mine. I really hope MJD doesn't play if he is only going to get 10 - 15 touches. I'd rather just plug in Jennings.Who knows, Britt, Jennings and some other fill in might work out. Not counting on my christmas bonus from FF this year though now.

Bloom via Twitter: Just to drive it home folks, I have MJD in FBG staff league championship and will probably start Felix and Choice instead of waiting for Sun

Also stated If MJD is out, Jennings jumps up to low end #1 RB ie. like only 8 or 10 better RB's ahead of him

Here's one happy Hillis/Jennings owner!!!!!

:lmao:

I really didn't want to play a beat up Hillis against Baltimore.

Ooooh.Picked up Jennings for a lottery ticket. If MJD is out thinking of starting Jennings over Bradshaw in PPR.Maybe over Blount too.KY

This thread is all speculation right now. The fact that Drew didn't practice all week doesn't confirm him sitting out sunday, in fact my guess is he's gonna play being less than 100% and take away the value of himself AND jennings as far as fantasy goes.

hope this keeps going the way it has been and MJD takes a seat, was gonna start ronnie brown and just hope for a td and 50 yards, but jennings looks like a good play if things stay the same.
