MJD's coming our party? (1 Viewer)

I agree, the guy is electric.

Should be a fun game... people will be saying "Reggie Bush who?" after they watch MJD go wild.

He'll do well - but it will be tough for him to do BETTER than last year's game at Jax. That was a near perfect storm of performance - great by him, awful by the Colts D (no Sanders - starting Gilbert Gardner - one of the 5 worst starting LBs in the history of the NFL).

I am forced to start Fred Taylor due to byes/injuries.

I am positive this will be MJD's coming out party.

i feel like MJD has already had a number of "coming out parties"

maybe not the 1st game against indy with 100 yards, but certainly the 166 and 2 TDs in the 2nd game.

or possibly the 131 and 2 TDs against NE in week 16.

125 and 2 TDs last week wasn't too shabby either.

maybe it's for the world to see now, but he's still the same RB i saw in last year's preseason (powerful and explosive) and getting better.

:hot:

i meant for the world to see

obviously fantasy-heads like us already know who he is (i took him with my second round pick)

but the average fan doesn't really know who he is.

MJD is the kind of guy who can turn a half as ugly as that into a spectacular game in just 1 touch of the ball. Thats the beauty of it.

Yep, he really lit up the Colts...13 rushes for 52 yards with a long run of 12 yards and three catches for 17 yards. Oh, he did get a supposed TD. Yep, if he's coming out, look for him to be marching in San Fran with all the others...

Was a good 2 week run there. Hope he comes back strong next year.
He got me 15 points in my league. PPR leagues he's a solid number 2 with always the upside of having a monster game. He's on pace for about 1000 yards and 10 TDs. What's the hating about? you could have picked a lot of guys much higher than him that are doing much worse. It looked like he got banged up on the last play, hope it's nothing serious.

He's OK. Just got hit on the knee cap.
Did he call you after the game or something? Or maybe just wishful thinking... :excited:
Just paying attention, that's all... Keep in mind, I called torn ACL when Edge got hurt, even though he walked off the field. I also knew Ronnie Brown's injury was serious. It comes from watching hundreds of football games over 30 years - including many on the sidelines.

Hating? I love the guy. I'm reacting to the season ending injury he may have just suffered.

I think this is the week the world learns how good MJD really is...
You sure did :lmao:
:excited: Gotta love ######ed posts like these.
What are you complaining about? He got shut down, plain and simple. Watch the replay or look at the stats.
I'm complaining about the extremely poor command of the English language. Read the post and the reply again.
Hahahahahaha... calling me out on my usage of the English language. That is indeed ripe.P.S. Glad to see you have such a vast vocabulary, that you couldn't think of an appropriate word to describe the post well.

It looked like a helmet to the knee. I'm hoping it's just a bruise, I saw Westbrook take something like that this year and he was fine. But then again I own him and it's just wishful thinking and I'm not much of an expert on the matter...so I guess we'll see.

They said it was a sprained knee...and it didn't look like nothing. as a MJD owner I'm nervous.

Here are my 3 Main RB's in my Dynasty league...

Steven Jackson

Ronnie Brown

MJD

I can't lose anybody else.

News: Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew suffered a sprained left knee late in the fourth quarter of a 29-7 loss to the visiting Colts in Week 7. The injury didn't appear too serious, as he walked to the locker room without assistance. He finished with 13 carries for 52 yards and a touchdown, scoring from one yard out in the third quarter. He also caught three passes for 17 yards and returned four kicks for 133 yards.Analysis: The injury happened with less than two minutes remaining and the Jaguars down by 22, meaning Jones-Drew might've just left as a precaution. For now, we don't think the injury will prove a serious one, but check back later in the week for his status. If healthy, he's a No. 1 Fantasy RB in Week 8 when the Jaguars visit the Buccaneers. He now has four touchdowns in his last three games.

"Walking to the locker room without assistance" is meaningless when it comes to an early diagnosis from afar of these type of injuries.

A knee sprain is meaningless because it could put a player on the shelf or take him out for a quarter. Westbrook sprained his knee week 3 at washington, and went back into the game. Walking to the locker room without assistance is a lot better than being carted off the field. It could be serious but we won't know anything until later this week, and I don't really see any evidence to talk about season ending injuries.

And Del Rio had MJD in the game at that time why? :lmao:

Part of me is hoping that because of what happened to Ronnie Brown yesterday, we're all just anticipating the worst here, when maybe there's not much to worry about.

Come on, we've all watched hundreds of football games...nobody can accurately predict an ACL injury. Did you predict Deuce's ACL tear when he merely jumped for a pass and then walked off the field?

downside of small backs - more injury prone
IMO its the exact opposite. Most big backs cant dodge tackles and avoid contact. Backs that are small tend to be elusive.Weight not height of the back I believe has an impact on injuries. Westbrook and Dunn come to mind as small(weight) yet elusive, BUT MJD does not fit this mold despite being small. When grading a back as a big back or a small back, I think you should take into account the general height/weight ratio.MJD is 5'7 208, thats a big back despite being short. If anything being short gives you a better center of gravity and gives you and advantage to get lower on impact which usually means you'll win the engagement. So this injury has nothing to do with him being prone. His combination of height/weight is why I love him so much in Dynasty, hes less injury prone IMO because of his height, can take hits because of his weight yet heavier backs tend to wear down like SJAX , S. Alexander , LJ , ADP, Marshawn Etc. These guy will take punishment for yards. Normally the smaller guys mean you deal with light backs. Not here.

you wouldn't be banging your head against the wall if MJD scored a garbage TD on that last drive

Great point, don't forget McNabb either.

(KFFL) The Associated Press reports Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) suffered a sprained left knee late in the team's Week 7 game. He left with 52 yards rushing off of 13 carries with one touchdown. X-rays taken were negative and he should be fine for Week 8.
