MJD's value after this week? (1 Viewer)

Has his value finally increased or is he still undervalued?

Anyone trade him away or for him since yesterday's game?

3 TDs are nice (very nice) but they were all short. I think he had around 100 yards combined, which is nice too. Still against a horrible, horrible team, I'd have expected more in the yardage department. He hasn't had a big gainer (which was kind of his thing the previous years) in a while it seems.

Expectations neutral.

I think his value might actually decrease, since he's had such an up-and-down season. Plus, Taylor got the carries at the end of the game.

I fully expect MJD to have another 6 carry/15 yard game next week, only to blow up in 2 weeks with another monster game.

he didn't play much in the 4th quarter
I think this works in his favor. He did his damage on only 13 touches. The Jags had a safe lead and they rested him while Taylor ground out the clock-killing yards.

I play in a heavy TD league and he's the #10 RB right now. I took him as my #2 RB and he's exceeding those expectations at the moment. Sure, he's not the most consistent producing RB but there really aren't that many of those out there. The dude takes more grief than most on FF boards yet he's doing the same thing he's done the 2 prior years....producing.

I watched it and it was almost as if DelRio felt sorry for Taylor and gave him charity carries because the game was in hand. MJD was the more effective runner by far. DelRio left Taylor in for at least 1 goal line opportunity that usually would have been given to MJD. If they would have kept the same personnel as usual for the whole game, MJD would have had over 100 yards rushing and 4 tds pretty easily. :lmao:

Thinking of shopping him myself this week. His OL is still a mess. I am not sure of his trade value but I am going to shop him around a bit.

After yesterday, he's #9 among RBs in my keeper league.

He played Detroit. That says about all you need to hear.
Adrian Peterson never sniffed the endzone against the Lions. And he plays Houston, Chicago, and Green Bay during the playoffs. What's your point? What I love about him in a TD league is even when he doesn't have a good day, he more often than not still finds the endzone.

It appears the Jaguars are simply going to run all the tread they can off Taylor's tires while he's on the team.

I only started him because a) it was DET, and b) I had no other choice due to BYEs and injuries

His value is not changing. Other posters are right about the offensive line and the state of Jacksonville.

Decreased for this year because he no longer has Detroit on his schedule which would have been an attractive matchup to pick him up for.

FWIW, I traded him for Peyton Manning in a 10 teamer just prior to the game. His other QB is Rivers, and I had some decent RB depth and had lost Brady and Schaub. He wasn't making my starting two every week, so it was a no brainer. Given my particular situation and MJD's up and down production this year, I'd probably make the trade even after the game. Luckily the trade won't go through until Tuesday so I got to use the points this week!

He still only had 11 carries, but just did the most with them this week. Not going to happen very often.

I agree that the plan is to empty Fred Taylor's tank completely....

So you expect the Titans to contain him but you expect him to explode against the Vikes? He gets the Texans after that and then the Bears. Not a guy to trade for if you are trying to make the playoffs. If you are in the playoffs, then he might be a nice guy to trade for. GB and the Colts weeks 15 and 16, but if you have a week 17 SB he plays the Ravens. GL with that schedule outside of 15 and 16

Agreed. They were really trying to get Taylor a TD on that final GL series. I guess they figured MJD already had his share. At this point Taylor is just getting loyalty/pity touches.Time for Taylor to hang em up. He's gotten old very fast. Great, great RB, but the time has come.

Agreed. Time for Fred and Edge to go hang out. Maybe play some golf or something...

If you look at a graph of MJD's output this year, you will see that he blows up every third week. Looking at his remaining schedule, he will be money plays on weeks 13 and 16. Which as you can see, fits the pattern this year precisely. But to the OP, I would say his value decreases as he is only good every three weeks. If you can trade him do it. I tried but found no takers.

With a beat up O-Line and a tough schedule MJD is hard to make a weekly play. Jacksonville has become a pass first offense to further devalue the RB's. It is frustrating not to be able to usey such a good player. It feels like another lost dynasty season (from a stand point of realizing potential) for MJD.
