Pitching for the main slate is even a bigger mess probably should just avoid but I'm too stupid for that. Playing a $2 6man winner take all with Corbin/Valdez(who?!) and just a bunch of random guys. Think I may be on tilt-lol

I am there with you.  I just did a $1entry with Gallen and Valdez and loaded up on random bats.  Maybe I had a 2 or 3 man Cubs stack.  

 
I should post these when I see them, but it's small sample size so I don't.  Best LU again was the one where I used random guys that showed up on the mlbsavant site when I set for xBA and xslg. 

Today's list was Gurriel, Lindor, Devers, Naquin, Duda, Grichuk,  L. Garcia.  I had those guys in my G.Marq/Sale lineup and scored 157 or so.  

I use that site a bit when I have time to look for one offs and low % gpp ideas.  

 
I cashed in my early lineups with  Sale/Strahm and Yankee + Red Sox bats. No big wins but better than the last couple days. 

For the night games I went chalk at SP with lineups using Corbin/Gallen/Boyd. My cheap SP are Wainwright and Houser. 

 
Corbin/Gallen/Boyd worked out. Bats starting to heat up. This looks promising.

My Corbin/Gallen gpp lineups cashed which was nice. Having K.Bryant, J.Segura, and N.Cruz really helped and made up for the bag of balls from Cano and Hoskins.

Thanks @KarmaPolice for the tip on the mlbsavant site. I will check it out.

@TwinTurbo- just being clear it's not the end all either.  Just ideas if I get stuck, but like I said sometimes we are talking only a 5-6 at bat sample size too.  

Just usually pops up names I normally wouldn't look at.  Like today- sorting by xBA has names like B.McCann, A.Garcia, and Cano at the top- guys I dont usually play.   I glance at the bottom too- guys I like such as M.Olson seem to struggle vs the SP.

Another loss today. Played early only and finally got both SP right(Nola,Jurado) but Hou,Tex and Mil bats did nothing. Had a Schwarber Homer to push me past 100 but still 20 from cashing.

 
Haven't gotten too far, and don't know how much I will play, but was up early and looked at the savant website and wrote down some names.  At the top of the list sorted by xBA (bolded means they were on the xslugging list too):

Ozuna, D.Santana, C.Casali, N.Ahmed, O.Arcia, Donaldson, Yelich, Cain, Keirmeier, Bell, M.Smith, A.Rosario 

Some different names if you sort just by exit velocity/hard hit:  Pinder, Brian Anderson, M.Olson, Bellinger, Grandal then names I usually don't see like M.Pina.  Actually, if you look at the top 20 exit velocities vs. the SP for the day, SIX Brewers are on there which I found interesting:  Pina, Grandal, Arcia, Yelich, Braun, and Cain.   Not sure how popular they will be, but that stack looks interesting now.  

For odd gpp ideas besides the Brewers, I wrote down Casali because I hardly ever see Catchers on here and he is cheap (3.4K).  I also wrote down Ozuna, Santana/M.Smith, Donaldson, Bell.  The Mariners are always low owned, and Smith is a L-L matchup which will mean ownership is even lower add to that their prices and it's a Coors slate - WTF for a dollar, right?  Donaldson is cheap.  Small sample size, but 3 for 6 with 2HRs off DeGrom and probably low owned b/c he's going against DeGrom.   Similar with Ozuna - 4 for 5 vs. Lauer with 2HRs late night game in SD?  He will probably be lower owned too, again - especially with Coors and his price.  

On break at work I need to look at pitching and see what SPs stick out or what stacks might stick out (besides the Dodgers in Coors).  I've mentioned I dread Coors slates, right?? ;)

 
Dodgers are in such a good spot, but they are so damn pricey.  As of now, I am going to do 1 maybe 2 Dodger stacks, but I am going to try to think of a couple teams/stacks that allow me to fit better supplementary bats with them instead of having to go scrub hunting at SP and other positions.  

A few ideas that stuck out as Coors pivots were: Twins,, Brewers, Nationals, Pirates.  

IF I am paying up for Coors or others teams, I guess I am looking at combos of guys like W.Miley, E.Hern, Ryu, Velasquez, A.Sanchez?

I thought about that too.  I love the idea in gpps of getting lower ownership for other teams because of Coors, but usually end up pissed about it.  

 
Here is what I put in for a placeholder:

Miley/E.Hern - Casali - Cron - Altuve - E.Suarez - Polonco - Kepler - Cruz  and that leave 4.7K for the last OF.

I scored 102 with a Strasburg/Beede lineup. Missed cut by 25 points. That said, I used a couple players from the mlb savant that did hit:

Laureano - 14pts

Soto - 14 pts

My main problem was that I paid up for Strasburg and faded most LAD and LAA bats which was of course a huge mistake. I'm on the fence on whether or not to fade them again today. Even with high prices on DK, I still think ownership will be high and there are some lower cost bats that I really like.

This is exactly where I am at. I've got a lineup that I really like that has zero players from Coors but it almost never works out.

I think except for Coors, nothing will be too high owned on a 14 game slate.  

 
I actually don't mind my Coors stack.  Did Dodgers 1, 2, 4, 5.   Dirt cheap C and Donaldson, Suarez, N.Ahmed rounding it out.  Miley/E.Hern as the SP combo.

I'm using some of the names on that list. I also really like S.Marte who has great numbers vs. Anderson.

I threw in an "all savant" LU:  Casali - Bell - Altuve - Donaldson - N.Ahmed - D.Santana - M.Smith - Ozuna.   WTF - it's a buck.  

I have 6 LUs - the one above, 2 Dodger stacks, 1 Minn stack, 1 Milw stack, and one Wash/Pitts LU

I have 1 out of 5 lineups that will cash only due to Lynn and Arenado. Across the other 4 even Trout, Yelich, Bellinger, Marte, Ozuma, Lindor, Santana all combined for next to nothing.

My best lineup was 136 with zeroes from Trout and Lindor. The others were in the 80s or less. I am taking a break from DK after today.

Rough night here too - lost about 1/2 mostly due to hitting on a couple of the odd contests - tiers and showdowns min cashing.  

Main LUs were atrocious - 107, 78, 75, 64, 37, and 20.95 points.  The one for 107 did min cash, of course the LU with Muncy and Verdugo.  None of my odd ideas worked - I for sure wasn't on Balt or Cinci.  

I seem to play a little more on Saturdays since I have more time to look at stuff usually.  Early slate doesn't have Coors and has more games, so I will for sure start there.  Looks like savant is pointing to a few Cubs, Mets, and Reds.  

 
One thing I finally noticed is that on the RG LU builder, you can toggle between last 4 weeks, this season, etc.. I do like the idea of playing around with that a little to see if there are some players that might be heating up in the last month vs. season overall, or same for SPs.   The plate IQ just does for the season.  

 
As usual - regular games look to be a bust so far, but the showdown was OK.  Not sure I should actually post what my idea is tonight.  :bag:

My early started out good but my Tigers knocked Both around and out and bats never woke up. 

For tonight switched to FD for a $1 SE and got Verlander with a some Coors guys mostly Col+ Thames Hiura.

I backed off a bit on my craziness. Have 4-5 $1 with a bit of Dodger and Brewer exposure.  

Did a couple 25cent entries with Seattle stacks.  :bag:

 
Verlander already getting lit up in the 2nd inning. This is why I'm not playing DK for a while. This hobby is just complete BS sometimes. If you fade Verlander he'll get 40 and if you play him, he'll get a season low.

This is why I look at the showdown and tier contests sometimes.  Tiers take out the SPs, and most of the time I don't even look at SPs on the showdowns.  

I mean today's $3K winner was pairing Cashner with KcKay and staking the hell out of Balt with Minn.  

I get it- it's frustrating, but I like looking the stats for baseball, and find it more interesting than NFL where you just look at a couple things.   Honestly most of the time I think it would be better to put 0 thought into it and just stack a couple teams going against the best SPs and just doing a buck or two here and there.   That's also why I usually just play gpps - I don't know how anybody could win consistently in cash with stud SPs getting lit up on the regular and great hitters going 0-5 on nights.

My best lineups are always the ones I do at the last minute with no research.

 
Not a great night last night either.  SD was not on my radar much, and J.Gray definitely wasn't.  

Will still try today b/c that's what I do on a Sunday morning.  

 
There's no way that @Raging weasel's Tigers can knock around Scherzer, right??? :scared:   Thinking about 70-80%+ him and pairing him with lower priced guys that have high K matchups - Snell, Chavez, Keller.  

Savant points to Minn hitting Giolitto well, and looking at stuff in RG, Bieber has been giving up a lot of power/wOBA to Lefties in the last month or so.  Even Morton doesn't look to be as good as he used to.   All this means I should be putting in a hedge LU of Giolitto/Bieber and a Det stack, right?

I wouldnt think so. Im pairing Max with Snell,, some Wsox and then random guys.

my buddy took 1st in a $.25 contest on FD last night with 271 for $750. Had Paddock and SD stack.

 
Might have to go the route of TT and give it a rest for a bit.  Went 0-11 today despite having mostly scherzer and Snell.  All my bats are sucking huge.  

 
Broke the seal and won a little today. Whiffed in a $2 10x(used Ray) but min cashed in a $1 gpp with 156 and took 1st in a $1 9 man for $4.05 so $4 in and $6.05 out.

 
Any of you guys try a best ball league/draft on Draft? I am +$30 over there for the season, so I was considering taking a stab or two at the $12 tournament for $10k prize.  Looks like initially it's a 10team draft that you need to win over a short 4-5 week mini season to go on.  0 clue what the strategy would be for that.  18 player rosters, so it's not really deep.
