1) Your goal is to predict the correct MLB teams that 15 free agents will sign with during the MLB 2007-2008 offseason

2) You'll do this by selecting a team for each free agent. You will also select a confidence level for each selection. Confidence levels range from 15 down to 1, with 15 being the pick you are most confident about and 1 being the least confident.

3) You will score points for each correct selection based on your confidence level. Compile the most points and you could win tickets to see your favorite MLB team play their first home game of the 2008 MLB regular season.

4) Your picks must by submitted before 5 p.m. ET on Nov. 12, 2007.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. See Official Rules for details.

**I can't find a link that works. Go to mlb.com, click under fantasy, and then you will find it.

With that farm system? "Ouch"
Not so fast:
Asked in an ESPN chat session who has the best farm system in baseball, lead

baseball analyst Keith Law responded: "Probably Tampa Bay. Maybe Texas."
Baseball America has been making similar comments in their podcasts lately. Of course all due to the trades done this season.
Not buying it. They didn't get THAT many guys.Baseball Prospectus back in February had them at 22. That's a pretty big jump.

You're crazy if you think the Yankess aren't going to sign any of them. And Mike Cameron is only suspended for the first month, he will sign somewhere. Barry Bonds isn't retiring either.

I'll give it a shot, what the heck:

Barry Bonds: LA Angels (only team to pay him top dollar to outdraw Dodgers)

Mike Cameron: San Diego (will need him, already in the organization he was busted in)

Bartolo Colon: NY Yankees (will need a another top priced starter with questions)

Francisco Cordero: Hou Astros (the FA signee that makes them forget about Lidge)

Tom Glavine: ATL Braves (goes back home for his last year in the bigs)

Torii Hunter: BOS Red Sox (Crisp is gone, the rookie looked good, but Hunter trumps both)

Andruw Jones: Texas Rangers (have money to spend and a spot for him)

Paul Lo Duca: MIL Brewers (need catching at a discounted price)

Mike Lowell: BOS Red Sox (won't go for ARod, and will have money to spend on Lowell)

Jorge Posada: NY Yankees (will pay him him more and at more years than competitors)

Mariano Rivera: SF Giants (will have money to burn after Bonds is gone)

Alex Rodriguez: CHI Cubs (goes back to SS and has protection with ARam and Soriano)

Aaron Rowand: CHI White Sox ($ on Rowand is a better buy than $ on Jones or Hunter)

Curt Schilling: PHI Phillies (wants to pitch on a new contender, to win means he's the guy)

This exchange between a fan and Baseball America executive editor Jim

Callis in a chat session this afternoon:

=====================================

Nathan (San Diego): When I open Baseball America's 2008 Prospect Handbook,

which team's farm system am I going to find made the biggest jump from last

year? . . .

Jim Callis: The Rangers. Via trades and the draft, plus the improvement of

prospects already on hand, they'll jump from No. 28 last year to perhaps the

top five. I haven't broken down all the systems, so I can't be more

precise.
I'm ready to buy.
