All, here is what I saw from my sideline viewpoint...
The Colts Offense looks stout. I still think we won't see nearly the deep outs from the Colts this year as Ugoh just isn't Tarik Glenn. Manning was hurried several times last night.
Cedric Benson looks incredibly slow to the hole. He had a nice catch and run out of the backfield, but when you are getting stuffed by the Colts run D, you're in for a rough season.
Greg Olsen had several chances but didn't get the looks from Grossman or Griese. In the second Q he ran a deep out and was wide open, only to see Griese throw it 10 yards over his head like a corner route.
Adrian Peterson is the best back on the Bears IMO. He was fast to the hole, excellent on passing plays, and made a few nice blocks. It's not even close between him and Benson. The problem I see is that the Bears obviously want to run a power running game. If they changed their mindset to use Peterson more like Westbrook, then lookout! I'd have Benson as the COP back.
Griese looked much better than Grossman. The Bears have some nice WRs. Mush looks way slow to me. Again, I think he fits what the Bears want to do, short passing game, pound the football, and take a deepb
e look occasionally. I really think with a better QB in there, this team could dominate every week.
The Colts D looked solid. I've been saying all pre-season that the Colts are going to be better on D this year than last. Yes, the loss of McFarland hurts, but their DBs and LBs have improved. Their backfield now has hitters who support the run very well. Keiaho will easily replace June at WLB.
This is what I saw from my seats. Take it for what it's worth coming from a Colts fan...
