I don't think you go into a year with the offensive line that Houston has and think it'll just get better on the fly because you're calling better plays. The previous ineptitude might have a bunch to do with last year's results, but there's not much talent there either. It's consistently at the bottom of any offensive line ranking you can dream up.
Maybe they'll turn it around and get better, but I don't think so. I also have to question the wisdom of letting Stroud have a lot of input into the play calling and giving him the responsibility of seeing the defense and giving the calls and adjustments to the line.
No. Not ready. These coaches have been doing this for way, way too long. Even guys that can't cut it in the pros anymore like Matt Patricia can scheme until they get Division I quarterbacks looking like they're as hard-assed as Bambi and friends. I mean, yeah, Arch Manning isn't very good at all, but Patricia just schemed his *** into a few years more of college, and that's if the school even wants him back. Then you imagine what cutting edge professional coaches who spend sixty hours a week on this **** will do to Stroud, who is only in his third year. Forget it.
