**MNF Game 1 - Buccaneers at Texans**(-2.5, 42.5) 7:00 (1 Viewer)

Higgins looked good on that catch.
Why is that sad @wgoldsph?
Because the Texans would rather run Hutchinson and Justin Watson out there most of the time
Yep. Overrated Defense lead by an overrated coach.
I like this defense alright, but if Demeco can't hire an offensive coach with a clue then might as well start over. To'to'to really blew it on that 4th down scramble. All he had to do was break down and keep Baker hemmed in and it was game over.

I've already seen enough of Nick Caley. He's worse than Slowik.

I don’t know if nobody was open all night, but Stroud looked terrible tonight.
Both. He’s regressed without competent coaching last year and a first time OC this year and zero run game.

Our OL wasn’t good last year and might be passable this year but it just looks like nothing has yet come together.

Houston is not a well-constructed team. That game was terrible to watch. I hate when teams have a glaring weakness in a positional group that needs to be addressed and they go into the offseason when that stuff is addressed, and instead of truly addressing it they inexplicably send the best player from that group away while replacing the rest of the personnel with known mediocrities and incompetents . . . it is a bit stunning. I get if a team doesn't have a QB, but when you have the hardest position settled and you don't address an addressable position that sinks your team it's a sign of a troubling denial and spiritual myopia. And it's worse when a team hasn't tried and failed at addressing that positional need, but instead has simply refused to do so because they thought it was a management issue or a problem with the work ethic and intangibles of its previous personnel. That strikes me as complete mismanagement and cluelessness. But this is the organization that gave us Jack Easterby, and it solidifies my belief that similarly to my beloved Jets and owner Woody Johnson, Cincinnati and the ownership of the Browns, Dallas with Jerry Jones, and other similarly situated teams we find that the real issues are at the top, and if there is an unserious man running your organization, then your organization will remain unserious in perpetuity. It's no fun.

I guess I expect more from a Defense that has been elevated and talked about so highly this off season. For all that they have invested in them, they don't scare me at all. Lots of dumb penalties and don't seem well coached.

Cosign on Caley though. He's hot garbage and shows no vision. Thanks Demeco!

I really do wonder what Houston practices each week. It really does feel like our strategy is to rely only on the natural abilities of players.

I really don’t know what our identity is in any phase of the game. We have zero identity.
Yet, if that was our strategy, we'd have Higgins in on the outside for those zero blitzes. Take three steps and launch a jump ball. But Stroud tries to run while Hutchinson or Watson are out there running ten yards comebacks or something else worthless, and it's a predictable sack.

This offensive staff is a huge letdown so far.

Yeah. Being a fan of this team kinda sucks. Offensive line has been a problem since David Carr. It wasn't bad around 2011-2012, but most years it sucks.

Sorry, man. I really don't know what to say other than that you've got what is pretty much a sympathic guy right here. I feel the same incredulousness and disappointment. Our owners stink and it flows downhill.

What a fall from grace too. Honeymoon is over on DeMeco (and Caserio).

Worst is CJ’s potential extension is coming and we still don’t know what to do - did we break him or is it just another rookie OC? Ugh.

Ryans going from near coach of the year to a warming seat is a quick fall.
