Boy is the AFC East ugly. Six divisions have at least one team with six wins; the NFC North has a five win team; the AFC East doesn't have a team with a winning record.New England should be able to bounce back and get to 6-4 though, with games coming up in Miami and against New Orleans.

How is this one important?Divisional games are important in that you have a chance to put a team further behind you with a win, instead of winning against a non-division opponent, then hoping they lose.I added some "coach speak". But, yeah - division games are important.
Anyone thinking the Texans have a chance in this division is delusional.

It is important in case the Jags make a comeback in the division - the 2nd TB is divisional records. The division lead is only 3 games, and if the Colts slip up and lose to Jax, then the 2nd TB could come into play. That is why beating Houston and Tenn will be important. I expected that Bill Bellichick would be a rabid dog in talking to the media after the game. However, didn't expect that Tom Brady was going to be such a brat.Tom Brady always says the right thing...very telegenic, very well-spoken. But why he refused to take questions after the game is a little silly. I know losing is still sort of a new thing for him and the Patriots in general, but honestly, that was Brady being a crybaby. I expected more from the league's "Golden Boy".Between this and his silly outburst when they lost to the Chargers ("Nobody can talk about our team! waaaaaaaaah").

Brady, who held an even shorter media session than Belichick -- delivering a statement that lasted less than 20 seconds -- was hot in the first half (10 of 10 for 105 yards), but outdueled overall by Manning, who completed 28 of 37 passes. Brady was just 12 for 23 in the second half, and couldn't keep answering the high-powered Colts.
I mean...20 seconds?

This much we know for sure. The Colts can beat the Patriots' junior varsity.

Isn't Bulger back this week? So I guess to clarify, that particular week, for the period Bulger didn't play the Rams were one of the worst offenses in the NFL - is that what you meant to say? Because overall they're right at the top - and I read your comment as a remark on the overall state of those teams' offenses. Chalk it up to a communication break down I suppose. Regardless my comment was a nit pick, your point is still valid, although the Colts didn't exactly get lit up last night.I'll make the wild assumption you didn't watch that game. When Bulger was in the game he TORCHED the Colts and built a huge lead. Amazingly, when he left with an injury things fell apart. Jamie Martin just isn't that scary under center.linkI think you may want to make one more edit - something about the Rams and worst offenses in the league....Calling my shot now. Colts defense hasn't been really challenged.

Is there another thread out there on the Colts / Pats?I cannot believe someone has not already asked about these things from last night's game:1. Why didn't Dungy throw the damn red flag on the Pats 3rd TD? What did he have to lose? The ball obviously hit the ground...2. How does Billick get away with throwing his red flag on Marvin Harrison's TD grab? It was obviously a catch, and he was never even tackled!?It was an obvious delay of game by Billick to kill the Colt's momentum, as they lined up to go for a 2 point conversion. The Colts offense had the Pats D reeling back on their heels at that point.Should this be it's own thread?

Manning was hustling his team to the line, and the Pats D was still milling around, and Billick was obviously unhappy. Then he throws the red flag, for no reason.When told he was going to be penalized, he challenged the play, which cost him a timeout.It seems to me he didn't want to use a timeout, and was frustrated, and was trying to slow down the pace of the game. Otherwise, he could have easily have called a timeout, why didn't he do that instead?Just curious.

I don't agree with you here Shick. He didn't (and can't) throw the red flag to call a timeout. It's only there to call for a review. And based on the sequence of events, I believe he tried to use the red flag to interupt the game without being charged a timeout. Why do I say that? The sequence of events was:Belichick throws the flag.
Ref talks to him.
Ref announces there is no challenge.
Refs huddle.
Ref goes back to Belichick.
Ref announces they are challenging the catch.
Now we don't know definitely what was said, those events paint a pretty clear picture. If he'd wanted to challenge something that couldn't be reviewed, the ref would normally say what couldn't be reviewed. And if that was the case, that he actually had used the red flag correctly, there would be no reason the refs would have to huddle and go back to him, and he'd then challenge a catch he knew was good.
The only plausible explanation I can see is that Belichick misused the red flag to interupt the game.
My only question is this. Assuming Belichick, when asked what he was challenging, said he didn't have a challenge... should the flag have been thrown then and there? Or should they have given him the apparent second chance to issue a challenge rather than accept the penalty for delay of game.
