MNF Jets @ Cards (1 Viewer)

Was watching some Holmes highlights the other week and Richardson really stood out.

He was a beast at FB.
Sometimes makes me wonder if a team modeled an offense that way in this day and age if they could be successful. I guess Marshawn in Seattle was probably the closest we'll come anytime soon.

Absolutely, I think because the defense, by and large isn't big enough to hold up to a constant pounding.  They'd get pushed all over the field.   It would be like watching a rocky movie every week.  Other team comes out quick and fast, runs up some points and then the running team would just grind them slowly into the ground.

Multiple probowls (3, I think) Walter Peyton award-winner, and more. And I think he went Undrafted. One of the best to play the position. Dude blocked for multiple 1000+ yard rushers. Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, Adrian Peterson and Thomas Jones.

He was a beast.

and LoNeal was an incredible blocker as well.

With the shift to 2 TE sets and pass happy NFL we may have seen the last of that old school power rushing attack. Sad.

Dallas is doing it right now to some extent. They play keep away and murder the clock, dominating TOP.

Shortens the game and gives them a huge advantage.

This offense is so much  different this year, with basically the same players. Odd stuff, they can't get it together.  Pretty average team

Bit surprised the cards aren't throwing like the steelers did
Seems like Jeron Brown is getting a lot more action than John Brown.

I recall AZ sports writers banging the drum for that a couple weeks ago - has John been relahated to KR/PR? I haven't seen him playing on many snaps so far.

They are running the ball but doing most of it out of single back and some shotgun zone read type of looks.

I think Shamrock was talking about the use of a FB.

I could be wrong tho.

No, you're right - that's why I said "to some extent". The fullback is dead. Sad to say, it's just been phased out.

Back to this game tho.

I agree with others.

Surprised ARI isnt just spreading NYJ defense out and throwing the ball.

They certainly have the personnel to do so and could split DJ out wide.

No dog in this fight but that last PI on the Jets was horrible

I don't think that ball was catch able

Yeah ideally with a FB. Just loved that old school "We're gonna run it down your throat, we're gonna show you we're gonna run it down your throat, and there's nothing you can do about it."

I have a dog in this fight and I agree it wasn't PI, not only was the ball no where near the receiver but it wasn't even interference if it was near him.

I just read Fitz has a worse QB rating than 1 other QB in the NFL:

Blaine Gabbart

The Blaine Gabbart, who just got benched.

Losing Decker hurt but he sucked when Decker was playing.
