MNF Possibly Ditching In-Booth Interviews (1 Viewer)

Here's something else that should make viewers happy: The elimination of in-booth guests on Monday Night Football. An NFL source told SI.com that ESPN will dramatically cut back on guests this season, possibly even eliminating the segment entirely after its Sept. 8 broadcast (Minnesota at Green Bay), when Brett Favre is expected to drop by the booth (assuming he's not playing). Given that the majority of the in-booth interviews were essentially a vanity play for all parties, it's a smart (and overdue) move.

those are awfull . i hope they get rid of them . they are the biggest television broadcast distraction from the actual game ive seen to date .

thank you thank you thank you

plugs for upcoming tv shows are what the commercial time is for

True but if it were guys like Favre or other former/current players/coaches/etc. I would be OK with that. I just want something relevant to the game and not some guy pimping a movie.

I wouldn't mind them if they didn't seem so forced. It's often just a disruption of the game and they offer very little.

Great news, maybe I can turn the sound up during the games this year.

I liked some of them...Kimmel was hilarious.

It's all about getting the right interview.
NO! It is about the game! You can see Kimmel every night if you want.

Thank God. No more advertisements for crappy shows no one wants to watch. Favre is one thing. Jim Belushi pimping his lame-### sitcom is quite another.

Not buying it until I see it.

They LOVE to use that segment for free promotions of TV shows and/or Movies that they have money behind.

One of the most useless things done during games. :excited:

Heck, I'll take Tony Siragusa as a sideline reporter over those segments, that is how worthless I see them.

Now if they would just get rid of player interviews during the draft. I really don't care how he feels about being drafted, nor do I want to know what he was thinking when the phone rang. Give me some speculation on the next pick or possible trades and get on with it.

A black screen with no sound would be a vast improvement
