Modernism Week - Palm Springs (1 Viewer)

Has anyone been to Modernism Week in Palm Springs in either February or the mini-Modernism Weekend In October?

My wife and I have always been big fans of the Mid-Century modern style so Palm Springs has always been on our travel list due to the sheer amount of MCM architecture that is there. I am thinking about taking a Wed-Sun trip in mid-October, in line with the Modernism Week timeframe. They have a lot of open houses, tours, events, etc. to highlight this unique style that is prevalent in Palm Springs.

Open to hear about any places to stay (was thinking about AirBnb in a guest house of a MCM home), places to eat or highlights of the area.

Thanks.

I haven't even heard of it but this sounds pretty interesting, would love to go on some of those tours

I love Palm Springs. Actually threw my 50th birthday bash there with a handful of friends, and stayed at the Caliente Tropics hotel. Awesome and cost-efficient spot with a island theme and tiki bar. I stay there every time I'm in PS.

Also a must-do is patio dining at Las Casuelas Terraza in downtown PS.

I also love MCM but have never been for that event. Sounds like something I'd enjoy.

looking at their sponsors.
This is awesome. Mum will be horrified, but whatever

It'll be post-modernist by then

I came here just to see what you and Flop would say and I'm not disappointed.

Count me among those who think it might be a very cool expenditure of time.

Probably not the place, but got me thinking: Here's a song about Palm Springs by a young man confused about his mother's love of Palm Springs and why he was relocated there as a child. Got a retro cool, sepia-tinged reality to it. Pretty modern, and in keeping with what you're talking about with style and backdrop.
