1. The most significant change expands the rule against using the helmet as a weapon. A 15-yard penalty will continue to be called if a player lowers his head and makes forcible contact with his helmet against an opponent. But now, a player will also be penalized if he uses any part of his helmet or face mask to butt or make forcible contact to an opponent's head or neck area. If the foul is committed by a defensive player, it will also automatically result in a first down for the offense. The player could be disqualified. Incidental contact by the mask or helmet in the course of a conventional block or tackle is allowed. The league expects most of the penalties will be called on players in space, not on those who are playing close to the line of scrimmage.

Yeah, I'm clueless how somebody's head slams into another helmet and we miss it because we have priors or a point to prove.

I watch that play in replay and I'm looking for Dart to veer out of bounds or take a step to the sidelines to show he's giving himself up ... and the step never comes. I don't know what it's going to take for him to get this, but he steps out a yards earlier it's 3rd and 3 and you don't draw a dumb penalty on your team protecting you. Instead, Dart does a 360 on the air and Giants are in 3rd and 16.
He's GOT to understand it's hurting the team now. Whether that means you sit him for a possession, I don't know. But if Mike Kakfa wants to be a head coach for this team, how he coaches this may be key.

The question is if the defender lowered his head and hit Dart in the head.
Most of us didn't see it that way. Rock disagrees.
