**Monday Night Football - Washington at Kansas City**(-11, 48) 8:15 (2 Viewers)

No Jayden Daniels makes this a lot less fun
That said, of the 32 back up QBs in the NFL, Mariota has a decent resume and has 76 starts under his belt, the stage is not too big for him
His last real stint where he was playing week in and week out was 2022 for the Falcons, 5-8 as a starter that season, QB rating of 88, 15TD vs 9Int
He is what he is , he's a back up and now a journeyman but sometimes for one night they will remind us why they were the former #2 overall pick (Titans)

At the same time it feels like the Chefs are similar to a cat that have been given a mouse to chase around and have fun swatting at
The Chiefs should easily roll but I felt the same about some other NFL teams this weekend facing inferior QBs and not able to deliver
But short of the Chiefs beating themselves, they are likely to win big tonight and resting their starters in the 2nd Half

Washington lost 44-24 to Dallas who turned around and got thumped by Denver, another double digit loss this week would set them back to 3-5, season not over but the fan base was irritable when I mentioned they would not come anywhere close to the NFCC this season and my dislike of their off season moves. Looking towards 2026, that's it before Daniels will start making $75M per season, maybe they can load up next year and not get into tug of wars with over 30 Wide Receivers that want money when they already are set to make $20M but had to miss camp and cause all kinds of chaos on offense, that was not the off season of a strong Playoff contender

What happens if you go to an NFCC as a rookie QB and then miss the playoffs in Year 2? Is it Daniels fault the team isn't performing as well?
Coaches and front office that were being praised last year, how confident is the fan base this season? Next season?

I think this spread is a little high. Washington is getting McLaurin and Deebo back, and Mariota is probably better than the starter on a few teams. I think Mariota has a solid game, particularly on the ground. Expecting a lot of read option from Washington, and maybe "Bill" pays off this week.

It was a very quiet week for WRs. Troy Franklin is the only WR who topped 25 PPR points this week. I'd bet on Rashee Rice being the 2nd. I think he's gonna be fed just about as much as he was last week, but with a lot more playing time. I also think Mahomes continues to stay hot, and I could see him having a nice scramble game as Washington has the slowest LBs in the NFL.

I'd take Washington to cover.

Contrary to what most folks on a Fantasy Football Forum want to hear, leaning (not betting, mind you, just leaning, for now), U48.5.

Patrick is hot
Chiefs at home in Prime Time
KC defense playing well
Tough spot for Washington team
Even if Daniels were playing they don't look like last years surprise playoff team
If visitors score first it could be an interesting first half
But I just don't see the visitors hanging with the homies all night
so...

Patrick And The Mahomies- 33

Marcus And The Commies- 19

Just another year of:

KC in September- “Dynasty is over”
KC by midseason- “Best team in the NFL”

KC 31, Wash 10

I do not feel good about this game for my Commanders. KC is a very good team. Then again, in the NFL weird things happen so I hope it's one of those weird nights

Big Skins fan here. As long as Rice gets 30++ PPR's and Mariota doesn't go wild all is good!

Boy fantasy sure changes the way you enjoy football.

Nothing. Anyone paying attention knew they'd go backwards a little bit in quality, and possibly a lot in record given a MUCH more difficult schedule. They have a franchise QB but their roster is still old...it was not made better with the offseason. They need an infusion of youth, this team isn't going to go deep any time soon

Ok, let’s try something new here:

Everyone post your ref complaints in advance. Just really let it fly! Was that a phantom hold? An egregiously poor yet perfectly-timed DPI? A roughing call because a LB sneezed within 6’ of Mahomes?

Post them up now, get it out of the way.
Go!

Home league, I got hosed by Ferguson’s donut & Baker’s dud. I’m now down 4 points with Worthy left. My opponent has Trent McDuffy (usually good for 7-10 points) so I probably need 15 from Xavier.

With James Cook & Chase Brown both finally going ham for me, this would be a particularly painful loss. Say a little prayer for me if you feel so inclined. Especially since I left Greenard (15) on the bench in favor of Quinnen Williams (1).
What a week to not have ARSB.:sadbanana:

in a rare move, I am rooting for the chiefs. I don't care if they win (but they will) as long as they score a ton (20 tds plz)

NFL News: George Atkinson, former Oakland Raider and one of the biggest hitters ever in the NFL has passed away at 78

Interview with him about a year or two ago

Was part of the Soul Patrol back in the day

We were lucky last year. Lots of bounces went our way. I'm not sure we are playing that much worse this year. Tougher competition, JD5 and McLaurin out.

The coaches are fine. The players are fine. It was always a 3-5 year plan. Last year just got our fans excited.

We need more depth everywhere. Especially D. I'm sure it will come together for another run in the next couple of years. If there's no success by the end of JD5's rookie contract. That's when the questions will start. Because last year he was gonna be a $70M per year contract. Now not so much.
