More Dynasty Appeal,Eligah Hood or Devante Mays? (1 Viewer)

I thought these two would be a good comparison for dynasty opportunity.  Both are 4th on their team's depth chart.  I think both have about equal opportunity to move up.

Good comparison.  Either, or both, could fail to make the final 53 for their respective teams.  In terms of talent, I prefer Mays, but Hood is talented in his own right.  In terms of opportunity, I give a slight edge to Hood.  The other backs (Washington and Richard) behind Lynch cannot be mistaken as power backs, and Hood has some smiliraities in his running style to Lynch.  If Lynch were to miss time, I could envision Hood carving out a role as the Raiders' power back.  However, I don't expect Hood would take on a feature role without a lot of injuries to the backs ahead of him.  It is difficult to predict what role, if any, Hood has beyond 2017, but Lynch may be gone after this season, presenting an opportunity.   Mays has a good all-around skill set, and he has jockeyed back and forth some with Aaron Jones for the 3 spot in the rotation.  There are still many Ty Montgomery doubters out there, and until we see if he has progressed in pass protection and interior running, you might question if he is a true every down back.  Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones have outplayed Mays in preseason, but it would not be terribly surprising to see Mays eventually overtake both.

I will not be rostering either in short-bench dynasty leagues, but, for the moment, I have Mays on a deep-bencch dynasty league.
