Bengals | Lewis comments on Henry deactivation

Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said he noticed a difference on the field during Week 4 with WR Chris Henry deactivated before the team's game. "I did notice a difference, actually," Lewis said. "I didn't have anybody taunting, in anybody's face or anything like that. That's where I noticed the difference: Guys doing it the way they're asked to do it. I didn't have to worry about the guy taking off his helmet on the field and things like that. That's the key thing. And again, as you asked about the other thing, it's the respect to the league and what the rules are on the field, and that I didn't have to worry about yesterday. And those are things we've got to continually get straight all the time, because I've got to know who I can count on and when I can count on them."

So do you think Chris is going to get the message?

Personally, I have my doubts.

They got smoked in week 4 by the Pats.Maybe they need someone to taunt and get in somebody's face

Yeah, because that always makes people play better.

Didn't say that. But they did play like complete crap...something was missing

I think Henry is going to take offense to that, and no i dont think Henry is going to learn from all his mistakes he will still do the "fun" things that he has been doing.

Heard on the local radio station here in L.A., "Two Live Stu's" I believe it was, that they had info from the Cincy station that Henry is actually illiterate. One of those things that just sounds like it's true.

I doubt Chris Henry will learn from any of this but it sounds like someone more important to the Bengals has...Marvin Lewis.

I'd be suprised if he weren't, he went to WVU.
Yeah, but I bet he can start a fire with just about anything you guys might have on your front porch.

I've heard that too. Pretty sad if it's true. There's no questioning his talent, but it seems as if it's a constant time bomb continually going off at the worst times. I think Marvin is starting to think that he can't be "counted on."

When Odell Thurman was pulled over by cops it was the same check point that his girlfriend was stopped at and Odell had to send a Taxi or something for her to pick her up, you would think he wouldnt be stupid enough to go to that same exact checkpoint.

They also said that when Odell got pulled over Henry was throwing up and they said the reason was because he ate a bad cheeseburger not the obvious reason of drinking too much. Reggie Mcneal was also in the car and was passed out in the backseat.

henry was and still might be friends with Adam "Pacman" Jones and he has gotten in trouble before too if im not mistaken. (Both went to WVU)
