With the Pats he's a decoy. The Vikings don't have enough weapons to use him as a decoy. He'll do exactly what Rice did last year, get a ton of targets. Mostly because the other WRs are awful.

For Moss it's more about motivation. When he wants to dominate, nobody can stop him. He's starting to look bored/annoyed with the Patriots. Send him back to Minnesota with his gun slinging buddy Farve, and I think the chances are pretty good that he could start to dominate again.

Everybody said he was done after his stint in Oakland.., BOOM, huge year in NE. Revis calls him a slouch, BOOM, huge game.

No absolutes, but I like the chances of very good things happening in Minny.

Not huge, HUGE. One really nice catch against Revis who re-injured his already hurting hamstring and Moss goes off for a massive 2 catches for 38 yards. Boom, awesome.

I like Moss a lot, but the way things were going this season, this trade might be a good thing for him. I agree with the comments about a motivated Moss. His stats have to get better with BF.

As a Moss and Rice Dynasty owner, I want him to stay in NE. But I will be trying to sell him, good or bad I would rather take my chances elsewhere and hopefully get a few nice pieces for him. I think this trade would open up that window as he was not at the top of his game this year in NE.

If you are looking to win now I'd be hesitant to trade him considering the only tough defenses he would face with the Vikes are the two games against the Packers. Weeks 14 and 16 he faces the Giants and Eagles, but at least the Giants game is at home.

I don't know. It seems like I am in the minority when reading this thread but I think Moss has lost a step and isn't at the level he was a couple of years ago.

I don't think it matters where he plays he won't see the numbers he once did. If Favre forces it in to Moss all the time he will get a ton of interceptions because Moss isn't as good as Sidney Rice at this point in their careers.

I actually don't think Rice is that close to coming back or Minnesota wouldn't do this deal. Rice probably will only be around for about the last 5 games but when he does come back Moss's value will take a big hit.

I think Moss's value is higher in Minnesota because he will be fed the ball more for now but I don't think this is a move that puts Minnesota over the top. I think it is a move that reeks of desperation.

If Moss stays in NE he finishes with 800 yards and 12 TD's

In Minnesota he will get 1000 yards and 13 TD's

I think you folks are absolutely nuts if you think Moss has more value in Minnesota with no familiarity with Favre than he does with a HOF QB with years with. I think Moss is a sell high with the news (both redraft & dynasty). News like this pumps up guys' values for whatever reason.

I don't get this position at all. We can see what his value is in NE right now. He's not going to be re-signed and they're phasing him out of the game plan. They have elite talent all over the place, except at RB which Moss doesn't play. In Minnesota he'll be the best receiver on a team with limited receiving weapons, a great running game and a QB who doesn't mind airing it out. I'm not so optimistic as to think you're looking at a top-3 fantasy WR, but you've got a legit WR1 and he's not that in NE this year.The "more value in Minnesota" opinion is also a reflection of how far he's fallen in NE-- Not that he'll be a young WR again in Minnesota.

We're 4 games into the year. 4 games.Take a look where Sidney Rice was ranked last year after 4 games just last year. (Went ahead and looked it up -- WR29)Call me a believer in Brady/Moss, but I feel fairly confident he'd finish as a WR1 in NE by year's end. I don't think it'd take much for him to jump from his current WR36 spot to jump into the Top 12. ------------------------------------------I wholeheartedly feel Moss dynasty owners are being giving one more (and final) big time chance to deal him for a decent return. (Warranted or not, I think new situations artificially create a jump in player values).

I think, considering the contract situation and the team's knowledge that they'll have to adjust to not having him eventually, they were forging a new direction that didn't make him as big a part of the game plan. Sure, they'll use him at the goal line and a big-play threat...but it would be more of "the best of Moss" rather than using him regularly. His attitude and the realities of the contract meant you'd be believing in a Brady/Moss dynamic that simply didn't exist anymore.Regarding dynasty, it would be hard to disagree with you. He's an old receiver. If you can get something substantive for him and get younger, this looks like a great time to do it. I think the Patriots are thinking dynasty and the Vikings are thinking redraft.

I'm sure he'll have some good moments in a Vikings uniform if indeed this deal is done but as a Harvin owner I can honestly say I am happy that the Vikes got Moss instead of Jackson. Why? Because both would draw heavy coverage but Jackson would be better at beating it on a consistent basis. There is a reason Moss has largely become a decoy in New England. No offense, but do you actually watch the games or just repeat whatever you hear?You must think that opposing teams are very stupid then to be putting their best CB's on him and using double coverage. I suggest you apply for a defensive coordinator job since clearly they don't know what they're doing.

im with you 100%.favre is also a hof'er, but hes 40 and no brady. not even close.

The good news for Moss owners is that he will play in 17 games this year. Assuming he comes out the gate and plays on Monday night. Minny has already had their bye week. That's a very nice bonus for us fantasy owners that own Moss.

It would have been a very nice bonus for us Moss owners if he had been on a bye last week so we could have kept his zero points on our benches rather than in our starting lineups. I'd have won my game if that had been the case.
