most anticipated Monday Night Football game ever.......... (1 Viewer)

This game is much bigger than just a game...... I really dont have the words to explain this, but Katrina also effected my life....

We had alot of disagreement within my family and i wanted to just stay home with the storm coming, but i packed up and headed out with a few family to go to Austin a only to be in a house cramped with about 30 people in a 3 bedroom house there fore i slep outside in a tent for a few days till the storm passed. Just everything dealing with that was a horrible experience, especially the 16 hour drive which would normally only be a couple of hrs.

My life is back to normal but there's alot of peeps that hanst gotten back to normal, and alot of Louisanna natives get alot of hope through the saints, and with them being 2-0 and having reggie bush, it gives them a reason to kinda not think about what has happened to them.

But from a football prespective BUSH vs VICK on MNF with both of them undefeated should be awesome. Bush will meet his match in terms of speed/agility/ jaws dropping quickness/explosion. Vick is the person Bush reminds me of, they just play different positions.

anyway, i cant wait for this game to start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have Vick and Bush in several of my 6 leagues.....so getting to watch them both go back to back will be great. :boxing:

:banned: :banned: Should be a fun game to watch. Looking forward to seeing if Colston can keep it going.

the louisiana people should enjoy it while it lasts, because this is more than likely the last season that they'll be in new orleans.

:lmao: IIRC you were arguing heavily that the Saints would stay in San Antonio and harping about that city's "support" of the team. Too bad a sell out for the season, along with a sell out of all 137 suites doesn't back up your assertion. I'm sure they'd be much happier in the much smaller Alamodome with two-thirds fewer suites--too bad the NFL has shot down any hope for SA getting an NFL team. Life is to short to read posts from people as bitter as you. :bye:

My office is close to the dome. The atmosphere down here has been like a combination of the Superbowl and Mardi Gras. My tickets were going for about 12x what I paid for them.

This is a huge morale boost to the city since it represents both a return to normalcy here and says something for our ability to fight off those that sought to steal the team as well as rebuilding the Superdome to handle the event. This is the one Bush we really want to see.

:goodposting: Enjoy the game Reg, hopefully Vick and Bush will go off,and the Saints will walk away 3-0. :banned:

Congrats to the City of New Orleans for getting that building ready to play again.

Congrats also to highlight Bush vs Vick in the first game back. There's still no football player as exciting to watch as Vick* and Bush is the heir apparent.

*As long as he's running, not throwing.

It's exciting when he throws, too...you never know who it's going to go to! ;)

 Never thought of it that way!Hey look! I'm Michael Jenkins ----> :whoosh:

I hope Bush has a breakout game to really help that city. It would be an amazing story to see Reggie put up a couple TDs

 Peter King reminds us of some interesting info:

Every ticket to every one of the eight home games this season was sold, the first time in team history that had happened. Owner Tom Benson, who had flirted with San Antonio openly last year, told friends he absolutely was not selling the team, nor was he thinking of moving it. (He even turned down -- and it is mind-boggling that this has not gotten more play -- a $1 billion feeler from a Canadian consortium that wanted to buy the team with no strings attached. In other words, to move it somewhere.)
I'll never say "never" as long as the team is in the Benson family ... but right now, it looks as good for the Saints' long term prospects in New Orleans as it ever has.

Weird twist, but Hurricane Katrina might have saved the New Orleans Saints. They are a hot ticket, 2-0, and after the hurricane ruined year, Bush fell into their laps. Interesting how life works.

The aftermath of the storm certainly stirred something within Paul Tagliabue. AFAIC, he single-handedly brought the Saints back for this season, recognizing the PR nightmare that would befall the league if he were to stand idly by and watch Benson move the Saints.

What do you guys think about this prop tonight (didn't want to start a thread about it):

I took Dunn & Norwood -24.5 rushing yards against McAllister & Bush.

Seems a little too good to be true. The Saints could not run at all last week against a horrific Packers defense, and Atlanta has been running over everyone. My only concerns are the emotional edge the Saints will have, and the fact that Hartwell is out for ATL. I took the bet when it was -110.... it is now -170, mainly because I maxed out the wager, probably.

Did I get suckered in, or is this a solid play?

I figure the Saints will need to throw to move the ball, and the Falcons should be leading.

the Vick rush yards might be what is missing in the evaluation

Vick has nothing to do with my bet, though I think I understand what you're saying. But if Vick is running well again, defenses will pay less attention to Dunn. Either way, it's good for me.

On the quick turf, indoors, Vick is good for 120 on the ground.

I agree, I can't wait for this game. Vick, regardless of what you think of him as a QB, is the most exciting player in the league. And Bush is coming in with lots of hype. Hopefully the game lives up to the hype, but this is one I circled on my calendar. (not really, but I always wanted to say that)

I don't know if both of you misunderstood me, or you're saying that Vick's rushing totals will take away from the RBs totals. Vick has nothing to do with my wager. It's not "Most Rushing Yards -- Atlanta vs. New Orleans"..... it's "Most Rushing Yards -- Dunn & Norwood (-24.5) against McAllister & Bush."Carry on.

I totally understood. But, I disagree. The more (better) Vick runs, the worse it is for you, imo.

I was saying that Vick's rushing numbers will cut into Norwood/Dunn.

 I'm having serious doubts about the quality of the Bucs and Panthers run defenses. Meanwhile, the Saints are much better on D than advertised. Gap discipline works wonders
