I like movies and I generally push myself to be open about most subject matters in the film library. There are some movies, however, that I just can't make myself watch no matter how lauded or recommended they are. Sometimes it's subject matter such as Vietnam era war movies. Sometimes it's what is shown on screen such as movies like Hostel and Cannibal Holocaust. Sometimes it's because I don't know that I want to find out about what the movie is presenting such as City of God and the rise of street gangs in Brazil; seems like it would stick with me in a depressing way.
I've already mentioned some of my fearful movies but others in my list include- Old Boy, Green Inferno, Platoon, Sophie's Choice, Requiem for a Dream
Some that I've seen and appreciate- Apocalypse Now, M, Boys from Company C, The Year of Living Dangerously, Saw(I and II), the new Halloween, The Orphanage
What movies are you trepidatious to watch and which movies would you suggest I watch despite my concerns?
