I was thinking about this last week when I was watching the Pats/Dolphins game and again last night watching the Vikes/Jets game. At this point it seems like only a handful of teams really use this...the Colts being the only team who pretty much use it all the time. When you are playing a Defense that is very aggressive in their rush, it seems to me that would be the best way to slow them down. I mentioned to 2 above teams because both D's were very aggressive and getting to the QB pretty regularly...and both Brady and Favre are strong veteran QB's who are more than capable of reading defenses and calling their own plays. Why don't more teams use this?
