Dang!!! just climbed out of bed... land line ringing, cell a buzzing... to the most wonderful surprise!!! I have to say, the last thing I ever imagined happening was the Football Guys riding in on their white horses to carry me across the finish line. I don't even know what a scrimmage line is! Chris, I can't believe it... not only were you generous with your wallet, but you spent so much time making sure it was the correct amount! you are a dear...
Pack (Steve?) I'm so sorry you might lose your house, but art is so important. And you will get a DVD of the movie to boot. The card board box you'll be living in probably won't have electricity tho, so you won't get to watch it. I thought, if this day actually came, that I'd feel all empowered and cocky. I just feel humble, grateful and amazed by these kind and selfless acts that came from people I don't even know. you're the greatest... thank you from the depths of my soul.

I've dawdled responding in here as Nena has gone through the post-production phase of this. We've both been really busy and not had hardly any chance to talk, but the last update I got was that Stray was in the can and ready to be shopped at the film festivals. I got a text from her ealier this week, I see if I can get her in here for an update. The big thing is that she got it finished, and is sending it out to the circuit.
As far as myself, I've become heavily involved in an Austin film project (Nena is in Philadelphia).I'm now the Exec.Producer Of Mustang Island. We just finished the shooting and are headed into post production. The rest of the team think it would be best to "lay low," for now with publicity and then hit it hard once accepted into some festivals. The short of MI (Molly) was shown at over 50 festivals, including SXSW and Cannes to positive reviews. The drop dead deadline to enter in SXSW is Dec. 15, and we will at minimum have a rough cut entry to submit at that point. It is my expectation that we will premiere at SXSW in 2016. We were fortunate to land Macon Blair (the lead from Blue Ruin, best indie file of 2014 imo) and he delivered a great performance for us.
I may start a thread on this project as we move closer to release.
Thanks again for everyone's help getting Nena's film, Stray done. It took her close to a year in near seclusion to get the post postproduction finished. I spent a week in Philly earlier this year and only visited her for a moment. I had promised to send a couple of her kickstarter donators to Albert Oaks for a stay, but since i had to sell/leave there, I'll send someone to the premiere of Stray when it happens next year.
