Couldnt you have gotten finley at 3.1 instead of witten?
Finley went at 1.12
:lmao: Wow! None of my leagues have the graduated PPR scoring but does it make that big of a difference that you have to target guys that early to remain competitive?
The TEs score a lot in this, but I think taking Finley that early is suicide. He basically went that early (or earlier) in every FFPC draft I saw this weekend. I get the hype, but he wasn't the best TE during any stretch of games last year at all. It's a pretty big leap of faith (in my opinion) considering all the other weapons Green Bay has too.

Can't believe there are people bad enough to take Finley 12th overall playing in high stakes leagues.

My analysis of some of these:

FFPC Varsity Tourney ($3,000 Buy-in)

performance scoring, dual-flex, 1ppr for RB/WR, 1.5 ppr for TE, action scoring (return TDs count for players)

QB Eli Manning (09.01)

QB Brett Favre (12.12)

I opted to punt QB because you can really stack your team elsewhere by being patient. I was thrilled to land both of these QBs so late. Favre in the 12th is criminal in my eyes (of course I benched him the 1st week)

RB Chris Johnson (01.01)

RB Chris Wells (06.12)

RB Tim Hightower (07.01)

RB Donald Brown (10.12)

Chris Johnson was a no-brainer so I decided to punt RB2 with the hopes of landing some undervalued RBs later. Hightower has a great week 1 matchup and Wells is having a hard time staying healthy. I grabbed them both as I love the upside Wells brings. If he was healthy, he would get drafted in the 3rd/4th round. I am extremely thin here, but felt that drafters went cray at this position, so opted to find my flexes elsewhere.

WR Brandon Marshall (02.12)

WR Michael Crabtree (04.12)

WR Eddie Royal (11.01)

WR Devin Hester (08.12)

WR Brian Hartline (16.12)

WR Lance Moore (13.01)

WR Josh Morgan (20.12)

WR Kevin Walter (15.01)

WR Roy Williams (17.01)

I feel like I am stacked here. I love upside of a lot of these players and locked in the WR2s from both Miami and SF. This helps a tad should stars Marshall or Crabtree miss any time at all. I expect to play 1 flex from here each week (likely Devin Hester)

TE Jason Witten (03.01)

TE Zach Miller (05.01)

TE Anthony Fasano (14.12)

This is an area of strength for this team. I expect to play Witten and flex Miller every week I can. Fasano represents solid value in the 14th

PK Neil Rackers (19.01)

DE Tennessee (18.12)

Good week 1 matchups.

I am really proud of this effort:

Footballguys FFPC Main Event Team (Drafted by David Dodds - $1,400 Buy-in)

performance scoring, dual-flex, 1ppr for RB/WR, 1.5 ppr for TE, action scoring (return TDs count for players)

QB Eli Manning (09.02)

QB Carson Palmer (12.11)

QB Matt Cassel (19.02)

Again waiting at QB really worked out great here. Cassel in the 19th was robbery.

RB Adrian Peterson (01.02)

RB Jahvid Best (02.11)

RB Shonn Greene (05.02)

RB LaDainian Tomlinson (08.11)

I locked up both Jets RBs and that decision could take this team far in this format I think.

WR DeSean Jackson (03.02)

WR Michael Crabtree (04.11)

WR Mike Sims-Walker (06.11)

WR Jeremy Maclin (07.02)

WR Derrick Mason (10.11)

WR Josh Morgan (18.11)

WR Kevin Walter (16.11)

This is also a position of strength. I locked down both Philadelphia WRs and both San Francisco WRs. If my thoughts on their passing offenses are correct, I like my chances with these guys.

TE Greg Olsen (11.02)

TE Bo Scaife (15.02)

TE Kevin Boss (14.11)

TE Jared Cook (20.11)

In this scoring, I am obviously weak here. But I feel like I scrambled nicely to get decent coverage late that could pan out. If Greg Olsen is used in the Chicago offense, this team could be very good. I took both Tennessee TEs and am rooting for the athletic Cook to overtake Scaife in the offense.

PK Mason Crosby (17.02)

DE New York Jets (13.02)

I was in a position to start runs so I did. I grabbed the best at both positions without paying a big price to do so.

Finley is not a bad first round pick in the FFPC scoring format. He will be scoring 20+ points most weeks and that is a significant advantage for anyone who owns him.
agreed. the top tes down to celek/tgonz are gone by the 4th rd.

I don't like this team. With the TEs flying off the board early there had to be better value at WR than what you got, and by punting QB and RB2, WR should have been a priority in my opinion. Your top two guys at WR hail from teams that have produced exceedingly poor pass offenses in recent years. After that, you have a number of guys who will produce decent numbers overall, but will disappear for stretches during the season (Lance Moore, Eddie Royal, Devin Hester). It will be hard picking the flex starters week to week, I think. You should be okay at QB and you will do well at RB with Johnson and the Arizona combo, but I think you needed to do better at WR.

You have two guys that woefully underperformed week one - MSW and Crabtree - that you need to step up. I like the team under the format, but it won't be a cake walk.

Still happy with the Best picks? 2td in w1 makes anyone happy, but otherwise he looked very below average in that game - tackled several times for no gain when he had a 1 on 1 with a line backer (it was Briggs both times, so...).

Compared to the other wonderkid (Foster), Best spent week 1 looking like he didnt belong starting for a college team. Speaking of, how soon was Foster going typically?

Finley at 1.12 will depend on how the Packers use him. I agree with Dodds (too many weapons on the Pack), but he is good enough to score a ton of points

Thanks for sharing DD. Undoubtably you will be criticzied all season for your team, just like last year (didn't you take 1st?...)

Some of these teams are going to need a little reworking...Crabtree looked awful out there (running wrong routes, lining up on the wrong side...There was no chemistry at all with Smith who actually looked sharp in the first half). Sims-Walker hopefully just got locked down by Champ Bailey, but a goose egg still is not what I was looking for.
