My Marvin Jones for his Cam Newton (1 Viewer)

10 team 0.5 ppr league and Bortles has been killing me at the QB spot. After cam had a down week and Marvin broke fantasy football I'm thinking of trying to sell high and buy low on Newton.

My team is as follows:

QB: Chortles

RB:Forte, L. Murray, C. Artis-Payne, D. Martin*, A. Foster*

WR:A. Brown, J. Nelson, Marvin Jones, E. Sanders, M. Thomas, M. Wallace

TE: D. Allen, T. Eifert*

Should I hold onto Marvin since he could be very good all year and QBs are not super hard to find in a 10 teamer?

I think Marvin Jones is going to be a top 15 WR going forward.  But Cam should be the #1 or #2 QB the rest of the season and is a difference maker.  CAR schedule gets more favorable after 2 tough matchups in week 1 and 3.

Making the trade does weaken your WR depth.  Do you have to start 3 each week?

What QB is on the WW?  What you need to decide is.....is the increase from Bortles or a WW QB to Newton exceeds the decrease from Marvin Jones to Sanders.  Make the trade if the WW is fairly thin, or if you have 4-5 options at QB every week and you can steam the best matchup....then you can keep Marvin Jones.

Personally, I make the trade.  Newton, Forte, Brown, Nelson and Eifert is a REALLY good nucleus and would be a title contender.  Based on the top 200 forward, Marvin Jones and Cam Newton is a pretty even trade.

On waivers for QB there is Tannehill, Alex Smith, Prescott types. Obviously I can continue to swap guys each week but I feel like that is dangerous and I'll probably end up averaging like 17 points from the QB spot (if not less).

I feel like Cam can win me some games by himself. I do think Marvin Jones is going to be good all year but I don't see top 5. If he was so good then why haven't we seen this before? I know AJ green was there but if Marvin was so good wouldn't he have taken advantage of the extra attention paid to Green?

At the end of the day my thinking is this: Jones just had a massive game and his value probably won't get any higher. I need to move a WR because I can't play them all each week and while I'd love to be able to start 3 top 15 WRs each week, if the rest of my team is weak, it won't matter if I'm getting 60 from those 3 guys. I'd much prefer to hold onto Jones but I feel like he will get me the most in return without giving up proven commodities in Brown and Jordy
