My Stock Value Strategy Starts Now (3 Viewers)

Here are by current holdings:

1000 PRGN

1000 CENX

2000 HEB

2000 KERX

I like the first 2, but hate the last 2. I'm just looking to get back to my buyin price on the biopharm companies, and then never looking at that sector again.

added 2,000 UNG at 16.18 - This just feels HOT to me
If UNG were to close ABOVE $16.50...on my charts it would show a confirmed buy signal on a daily chart. The last time UNG was a buy on a daily chart was early July 2008...almost 1 year ago.I regret selling too. I'm holding some in my wifes account.

MMs trying to move UNG down big...and succeeding. This will be worth buying today, but unfortunately for me it wasn't when I did it

and for all those laughing at my giant wheatback penny collection:

Premium for just the copper

I will say it again. The penny WILL BE DISCONTINUED soon. And by soon I think in 2010. This will allow the govt to circulate the new penny for collectors that marks the 100 year anniversary of the penny.

But when the copper value of the older pennies (1909 - 1982) far exceeds the worth of the coin, something has to change. With the nickel also costing a lot in metal value to print, I think the prudent move is simply to do away with the nickel and allow the penny to replace it. Basically a one-time upgrade for everyone where any combination of 20 pennies or nickels now equal a dollar. And then all items get rounded to the nearest nickel going forward.

This would save money a few ways. The govt could halt production of pennies and nickles for at least a few years. The govt would stop making nickels and replace them with the lower cost penny.

Disclosure: I have lots of pennies (mostly wheatbacks)
 :boxing: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Dodds - if your ever in the peoples republic of Massachusetts, we need to get a cup of coffee sometime. For the past two weeks the Refs house has three change containers. One for "silver". One for post 1982 pennies. And one for pre 1982 pennies. Two weekends ago I sorted all the change in the house to weed out the pre 1982 pennies.

This is all you need to know as to why everyone should separate out the pre 82 pennies (yes I need a hobby).

It takes 154 pennies to make a pound of copper (forget the small zinc content)

154 pennies = $1.54

1 LB of copper = $2.38

http://www.coinflation.com/coins/basemetal...calculator.html

Thing is if copper stays at $2.33 a lb, your not picking up much value here. But if it goes to $4 a lb, or if inflation does in fact pick up and copper goes to $5-$10 a lb you’re going to be real happy you sorted out the pennies. From what I have experienced over the past few weeks it seems like 1 out of every 4 pennies in circulation is pre 82, so it isn't difficult to accumulate copper pennies. For what it's worth these facts are the reason why it's now illegal to melt down pennies.

I'm no less then 90% convinced that anyone who bought Commodities or Foreign stocks today is going to be VERY happy. Personally I plan to get my money all in over the next week so that I'll be fully invested in commodities and overseas markets.Fact - a laundry list of countries in the world are pleading there case to talk down the value of its currency. Japan, New Zealand, Canada, Australia just to name a few. Now ask yourself, why is it that the USA is the only country in the entire world trying to talk up the strength of our currency? And not only is the US government talking up the dollar, you have other countries talking it up on our behalf. Of course the countries that are helping in the hype campaign are going along with it so they can exit the USD as fast as they can.I expect a rally in the overall market with a focus on commodities and foreign stocks, sooner rather then later I suspect.
Just out of curiosity, which foreign stocks look the best to you?I am already long oil but looking to diversify a bit.
I'm not that smart, all of my overseas money is in ETF's. There are a lot of stocks mentioned in this topic that have performed well.

Anybody into casino's? Harsh beatdown on Mgm and LVS over the last month or so. Mgm had their share dilution at 7 dollars. Without considering "market correction", this should be its new floor. LVS made me some good coin earlier this yr (still sitting on 2 legs of LJJIZ (sept. 2.50 calls purchased at 2.30, still selling at 6 even though recent beatdown>). Long term, i like the thought that these guys will continue to make money, especially in the fall.

Other gaming industry names to keep an eye on. IGT, international gaming technologies makes slot machines. Pretty much have a monopoly. Slower moving but should be a steady gainer. WYNN resorts has also been beaten down. When i look at a chart, looks like a good evaluation play to 50. BOYD gaming is the las vegas locals casino. Should also move up with the whole sector later in yr.

I'm mentioning these as valuation plays and cyclical (fall) plays. LVS floor should be about 8. MGM should be at the dilution rate of 7(currently below). Also of note, mgm is shrouded in debt. Hardly a company i would bet into on fundamentals.

Out of Rio Tinto @ $185 - loss of $600.

That's twice in two weeks a stock has announced a dilution on me.....

:goodposting:

Still in

CENX 500 @ $7.49

UNG 400 @ $14.08

HEB 500 @ 0.25

Sold my KERX. Just couldn't stand the beatdown anymore.

Lost about 250 on it. That's a pretty big chunk out of my profits but ill fight back

You were not able to cost average out of KERX? It fluctuated between 1.01 and 1.08 the last few days. I was in at $1.22 and still was able to buy my way out of this.

No. Its one of the disadvantages we with small accounts have. Didn't really have the funds to cost average down.

any news on HEB?

I have a small position which I'm really not fond of right now. It seems like this stock is being artificially priced higher by hype - and the prospect of FDA approval. I can't seem to find anything of value - is this thing still alive?

If HEB was over $4 Id short the crap out of it.

Most of originally got in on HEB in the 150s and 160s. Some are now daytrading it. Buying in the 2.40s/2.50s and selling in the 2.75-2.85 range. Some are just keeping their free shares hoping for the lottery. Where did you buy in?

2.75 :thumbup:looking to get out at 2.65, if possible

I havnt been following heb that closly in the last few days. But doesn't it get to 2.75 almost everyday at some point?

against my better judgment here I am going to try and buy myself out of UNG. Purchased 1500 more shares at 15.74 - Average cost now at $15.99. (5,000 shares). This is a bigger position than I really wanted to take at this time. Will look to move some of these shares at anything above 15.90. I do think though that UNG is going to continue to gain as we head to Winter so probably not that crazy of a position actually

I have a buy in for 1,000 HEB at 2.58. Even though I think this thing is probably crashing, I want a seat at the train wreck just in case I am wrong.

added 2,000 CENX at 7.38...I am done with this now until I can sell it. In for 9,000 shares at $7.49

You really don't think HEB will be approved? Any specific reasoning or just overall bad feeling about the company based on everything else.

Roll this thread back two or three pages and read the weekend posts. Lots of good discussion on the reasons to be cautious with HEB.

Done for the day here. CENX is very cheap right now in my opinion at $7.34. I am upside down in CENX (Aluminum) and UNG (Natural Gas), but think both are goldmine areas. I am heading out of town for 4 days so likely won't be trading much. Hopefully HEB goes to $25...lol.

I will summarize where I am at later tonight. I banked a lot of wins, but now am upside down in my two big plays (unless CENX rebounds)

In case anyone missed Cramu's rant last night, (I always like to tune in after a big selloff - entertainment purposes), well, he 'KNEW THIS SELLOFF WAS COMING MONDAY' on Saturday. Seems he picked up his paper and looked at some chart that had the 30 day MA or 10 day MA crossing the 50 day MA and he knew that meant bad news. Too bad he didn't notice it was about to cross over on Thursday and did cross Friday. He was too busy screaming buy everything. On top of that, he didn't warn his lemmings either. He let them all ride it down all day before coming out after hours and proclaiming that he knew it was going to happen.

Now, did he notice this 'event' on Saturday? No, he watched the markets tank all day and had to dig up some reason on Monday's show. Valid reason for the selloff or not, Cramu had no idea this was coming. His lemmings continue to follow.

BOO-YAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!

Kinda funny because if I'm reading this article right, it's just the opposite of what Booyah boy was blabbering about last night.

Drug stocks with approval pending = Lotto ticket. You can't collect winnings if you aren't in. You can't buy a ticket & cash in after your number is drawn. If your number is not drawn (approval), you usually lose it all and have worthless paper. He's in.
