My Stock Value Strategy Starts Now (3 Viewers)

HEB getting a nice bump up today. Anyone know why? Am I the only one still holding this turd?
HEB is a perpetual pump and dump stock... there usually is some "rumor" that moves it.I'm still holding some and will likely sell on Monday if it gets any further upward movement.
I guess during a congressional meeting they were talking about H1N1 and mentioned a few companies by name - HEB was one of them. At least thats what was said on the Yahoo board.Still hold my 500 "Free" shares.I decided from the start that I would hold till $20 or $.02.

PRGN crossed into buy status for me today, but I have decided to wait until Monday before purchasing.

EMA(12) is at 4.92 while current price is now at 4.85. RSI(5) is a nice 38.65. The biggest reason to wait for me is that the BDI slipped again today. There also should be some more fallout now that the dividend has been paid for the quarter on Monday.

I still think this stock is going to take off when they start announcing the purchase of more ships (and their charters). This has $8-9 by March written all over it.

When you guys are trading a stock what is the most important factor for you? I was looking in the Water Transportation sector, the same as SBLK which I see traded in here quite a bit and I saw a company TOPS. TOPS has a lower P/E ratio, .82 vs 236.27, has a lower market price, 1.02 vs 3.27. However, I do see that SBLK has a higher market cap, 191 M vs 30.1 M, and SBLK offers a dividend where TOPS does not. I did also see that TOPS has $407.3 M in debt, and I was unable to find a debt number for SBLK.

From what I have been learning a lower P/E ratio meens that the company is undervalued, and a higher one meens the company is overvalued. Would TOPS be a better long term stock with a lower P/E ratio and a lower BETA, and with the volatility and higher P/E of SBLK make SBLK better for day traders or swing traders? I guess I'm just confused, because when I look at the two companys side by side, it looks to me as if TOPS is the better value at its price. Is company debt a big concern when trading stocks?

Thanks for any help/insight guys!

I bought ABT yesterday at $53.28 and sold Jan 55 calls today after they jumped 45%. The stock is at $54.44 now. If I take no action, at what point (and how is the point determined) would the options & stock be called assuming the price jumps above $55 tomorrow or next week?
If I am not mistaken the option would be called at the whim of the entity or person who bought the call.
There is a lottery system where exercised options are assigned on a random basis daily across all brokerages. (each brokerage has their own method of assigning options that is static but necessarily random like a first in first out method. It does not matter who bought your options originally. On expiration day, if the option is in the money is will be auto exercised by brokerages. With many days left to expiration, the time premium on an option will mean it is almost always sold rather then exercised, so I would not worry too much about an exercise 2 months out from expiration but there is a remote chance it could happen.
Thank you.
:goodposting: Thanks for the edumacation. I love learning new stuff.

Hi everyone - I just want to remind you all to be very careful tomorrow. This whole Dubai thing is probably going to drag the whole market into a death spiral.

Oh what’s that? China and Tokyo are up > 3%?

My Bad.

USD bumped back to the bottom part of the chanel it ran for a month and now it's headed back down.

Dubai could fall apart and yet the rest of the world is still worried about the USD more. I think there is a lesson in that.

Im going to hold a few thousand shares at all times and then play the up's and down's with additional buys. That way I wont miss the big run that everyone is expecting.

I bought some more EXM yesterday at $6.72. 2000 shares. I'm hoping to sell at $7.22 today or tomorrow for a quick $1000.

PRGN dipped to 4.82 this morning at the open. Bought 1000 shares. Up to 5.03 now.

Still holding a bunch of FREE @ 1.57.

Looks like PAL is finally getting some love. Up to $3.25 this AM with a Palladium spot price of $380. We are not far from $400 now and there is large speculation that part of the move up has to do with not just the price of Palladium but rumor that PAL has been hiring a lot of new miners this past week in anticipation of the reopening of there largest mine. I'd Love to sell now and buy back at $3.15 or less, but I don't want to miss the Mine open announcement nor do I want to sell and find Palladium continue to climb. Guess I am long this stock for another few months.

If this stock dips - it would make a good trade. Just saying.

Still long on PRGN, KERX, FEED, PAL, EEV, SRSR, FCG

Looking for final exit points on HEB, SBLK, COIN token shares.

I'm in all cash here again. PAL is on my ticker though, I've been watching it. I want to buy in near $3.00 though since it seems to dip down to there quite a bit.I'll be in cash probably the rest of the week since I have seminars until friday and will be away from my ticker.

One of these Tickers is not like the others.....How can you be long a Shipper, two Miners, a overseas Ag Play, and a Natural Gas ETF that are all anti USD plays, and Short Emerging markets at the same time?

Right hand isn't talking to the Left here.

FDA Says Can't OK Application In Current Form>HEB

PHILADELPHIA, Dec 1, 2009 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Hemispherx Biopharma,

Inc. (NYSE Amex:HEB) (the "Company" or "Hemispherx"), announced that it received

a Complete Response Letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA")

which describes specific additional recommendations related to the Ampligen®

NDA. In accordance with its 2008 "Complete Response" procedure, the FDA

reviewers determined that they cannot approve the application in its present

form and provided specific recommendations to address the outstanding issues.

Hemispherx is carefully reviewing the Complete Response letter and will seek an

expedited meeting with the FDA to discuss its recommendations. Management is

pleased to have received specific advice on the remaining issues and is looking

forward to making a thorough but expedited response its top priority, and plans

to take all appropriate steps to seek approval and commercialization of

Ampligen®.

Most notably, the FDA stated that the two primary clinical studies submitted

with the NDA did not provide credible evidence of efficacy of Ampligen® and

recommends at least one additional clinical study which shows a convincing

effect and confirms safety in the target population. The FDA indicated that the

additional study should be of sufficient size and sufficient duration (6 months)

and include appropriate monitoring to rule out the generation of autoimmune

disease. In addition, patients in the study should be on more than one dose

regimen, including at least 300 patients on dose regimens intended for

marketing. Finally, the additional study must incorporate both a well-controlled

QT interval study and pharmacokinetic evaluations.

Other items required by the FDA include certain aspects of Non-Clinical safety

assessment, and Product Quality. In the Non-Clinical area, the FDA is

recommending that the Company complete rodent carcinogenicity studies in two

species. As part of the NDA submission, the Company had requested that these

studies be waived, but the waiver has not been granted. Certain additional

non-clinical studies and additional data to support non-clinical studies already

submitted with the NDA are also recommended by the FDA. Prior to the receipt of

the Complete Response letter, the Company had already begun many of these

additional studies and the collection of the requested additional data.

Under the Product Quality section of the Complete Response letter, the FDA

recommends that the Company submit additional data and complete various

analytical procedures. The collection of these data and the completion of these

procedures is already part of the Company's ongoing Quality Control, Quality

Assurance program for Ampligen® manufacturing under cGMP (current Good

Manufacturing Practice Guidelines) and the manufacturing enhancement program

recently undertaken by the Company and announced in a news release on September

16, 2009.

Finally, the FDA commented on Ampligen® manufacturing noting the need to

resolve outstanding inspection issues at the facilities producing Ampligen®.

These include the Company facility located in New Brunswick, NJ and one of the

Company's third party manufacturing facilities (Hollister-Stier Laboratories).

The Company has been working to resolve these issues.

At this time the Company's management has not determined the impact of the

additional recommendations set forth in the Complete Response letter on the

timelines and overall cost of the Ampligen® program, but the Company's

management has made response to the issues and satisfaction of any additional

requirements a top priority. The Company will seek to meet with the FDA to

clarify any issues identified in the Complete Response letter and to work with

the FDA to identify the most expeditious path to satisfaction of the

requirements for approval of the Ampligen® NDA.

Call it a hedge. I only have a couple of hundred shares. If I sell it now you can count on a market correction of 10% so I'm holding for everyone's benefit.

HEB down 40% after hours.
I'm buying tomorrow.
I'm just happy that nobody in here had any major money in this. There were a few days earlier this year when a lot of us had tens of thousands tied up with this scam.
I've learned my lesson with HEB...it's not what you think though...I know damn well it's a scam, always has been, always will be.But knowledge is power... and you'll be hard pressed to find a stock that provides more trading opportunities. So what I've learned is that while I ignored HEB in the past since I had no interest in their scam, I'm now going to be looking to trade this one a lot more in the future.

I hate small pharma stocks. They are almost always binary in nature and I hate betting on a coin flip.Conversely, Roubini loves these types of stocks.

I had 1000 shares at one time (2.42 cost basis). Sold half on one of the run ups for 3.91, sold the other half at 2.09. For $600 I'll gladly buy my 1000 shares back and hope for more false hope ;)

Sucks about HEB. Hopefully all the fbgs got out or are only holding freebies.
Still holding 500 shares I bought at $2.59 that are basically free. I am just wondering why it took so long for the FDA to come out with this denial? Or is this some of the news HEB was withholding from shareholders and why there are lawsuits against them now.If this decision finally just now came from the FDA, they are basically telling HEB what they need to do for approval. What are your guys thoughts on approval moving forward? It could be another 6 months to a year but now where it is trading could be a good opportunity to buy some shares to hold onto. Any chance this thing could hit $2 again by next summer?

I can't remember if it was David or who recommended KERX but who ever did thank you very much. Now at $3 today and up 144% since I bought it.

Reported on cnbc this morning that they were put on the fastrack with the government about getting one of their drugs passed. Should be good for some more run in the near future.....imo. Is it just me, or did that letter HEB got from the government not seem as bad as the hit the stock took? Maybe I'm overly optimisic, but it seemed like the F.D.A. wants them to get it done, but just wants more info on the drawbacks. I don't hold any but I'm putting a small order in for 1k shares at .70.

Go PAL go! At $3.34

I'm guessing the USD must be down again today?
Palladium hit over $390 last night. As I have said before I really like this stock over the next few months, no matter what this stock will trend higher as the price of Palladium goes up. That said, this stock has a cap on it until they reopen the main palladium mine. Good news is I think our day in the sun may be coming soon. On December 11th 2007 the company sold 20M shares that also came with a warrant to purchase an additional 1/2 share of stock at ~$5. These warrants expire after two years (end of next week). Management said one of their investment conferences earlier this year that they planed to open the mine (paraphrasing) when palladium is consistently between 325 and 350 . Now that Palladium is quickly approaching $400 an oz, lots of rumor that PAL has been hiring miners for the past week or so, and the warrants are up at the end of next week - I think we might hear something by the middle of January.

All speculation, but this makes all the sense in the world to me.

Is there any way to chart the USD vs the price of palladium? If the price is up despite no downward move in the dollar then perhaps we can take heart that there is actual growth in demand and not just exchange rate fluctuations.

KERX moved up the past few days on word that they have a new cancer drug being fast tracked for FDA approval. I've bought some. Wondering if I should buy more. Looks like lots of volume being bought/sold and message boards claim that the MM are trying to hold it down. Any thoughts?
